Bringing over from Rippon's thread re. his appearance in next week's finale of DWTS: The Next Pro (thanks @TanithandBenFan! :)):
I discovered why Adam went to Australia a few months ago for a quick trip - he’s going to be dancing with one of the finalists on Dancing With the Stars: The Next Pro! The finale episode will air Monday, August 31 on ABC. They invited three former finalists to dance with the final pro hopefuls - Adam, Nev Schulman, and Charli D’Amelio.

The only stars I recognize: Julia Stiles, Guillermo Rodriguez, and, of course, Amber. I guess I'll have to watch this season. :p

I recognize Jenna Dewan too. At one point she was a back up dancer for Janet Jackson and a number of other famous singers. She's also hosted some dance shows.

Tatyana Ali: 90s era sitcom actress (had to look up what role but she was on Fresh Prince).

I haven’t watched this in ages (the Houghs were still on) but isn’t Julia sort of a ringer? Or did she just train dancing for one movie?

Harry Shum Jr. is the ringer. He was on Glee.

Ezra Frech will be very popular. He is the Paralympian track-and-field star. He did a fluff piece with Adam Rippon at the last Games.

Re-posting here what @jmtfti wrote in Amber's fan thread:
It's tough to say, because two of the other celebrities -- Jenna Dewan and Harry Shum, Jr. -- have extensive dance experience. However, that often ends up backfiring because many voters prefer celebrities who are talented dancers, but don't have a resume in actually dancing professionally, which some see as unfair. She'll also have competition from popular celebrities with name recognition, like Julia Stiles, and I've heard Jackson Olson has a huge social media following. Her fellow Olympian Ezra Frech may also get a lot of support. But Pasha will teach Amber well, and he did make the finals with his strongest previous partner (Ariana Madix), so I think whether or not she wins, Amber's in a good position to make it far.

For all the griping on the interwebz about Julia, Jenna, Tatyana, Harry being ringers and all their dance experience and it's not fair blah blah blah .... they are also 45-48 years old. It's not like they have spent the last 20 years being professional dancers every day, they have mostly been actors the last 15-20 years. Amber is more of a ringer than the 4 of those simply due to age and more recent/daily dance experience versus the four of them.

And are there really going to be FIVE couples making the Finals again? The way I count down the days, there will be 5 couples left for Finals night again, which is ridiculous to me. It's not a "Finals" if over 30% of the teams make "The Finals". They need to stop casting so many people each season and keep it at 12-13 max and make "The Finals" at 3 teams only. 16 is way too many. /rantover. :P

Wild to me that someone with a thick Longford accent is a celebrity in the US. Or anywhere really…
