Calling all nature photographers (using everything from camera phones to really long lenses)! From April 30-May 3, volunteers in cities around the world will photograph their area's wild plants, animals and insects and upload their pictures to the iNaturalist website for identification. The purpose is to study and track changes in each area's biodiversity. You don't need to be a great photographer, just good enough for iNaturalist to be able to identify the species. I encourage people to participate even if they only upload a few photographs - it is one of the more fun citizen scientist efforts and might spark a new interest or hobby. For more information and to see if your city is participating in this program, check their website here: https://citynaturechallenge.org/ I know we have a lot of really good photographers here on our forum, and wanted to spread the word about this effort -- it might also be fun to check out each others' photos!
