He has indicated on his Facebook status that he is retiring from competitive skating.

It appears that Simon Tanguay has retired, from Carolane Soucisse's Instagram and Facebook. (The team finished eighth in senior dance at 2016 Canadians.)
I believe Simon is focusing on school (based on a comment on the Facebook posting).

Rumour (not fact), is that Lauren Collins/Shane Firus have split, Lauren "retired", and Shane is moving to Montreal to skate with Carolane Soucisse. Again, rumour, not fact as yet. Can anyone confirm?

Lauren and Shane have definitely split, and she is "retiring", not sure where Shane is continuing.

I can understand why some of them would put school first now... with V/M returning, it means, V/M, W/P , G/P will be the one making world team and Olympic team...I guess... so if you're not willing to keep training until 2022, better off retiring now.

Glad to see this photo. Sticking together through an injury like this so early in their career is a good sign. Cheering for them.

I really like Edwards/Pang. It was a tough break for them to be sidelined in what would've been their first senior season. Hopefully they'll get some early Challenger Series assignments... Hopeful for Orford/Hill in that regard too... why oh why can't we expand the GP spots for dance?

It has been confirmed that Soucisse and Firus have partnered up, and Firus has moved to Montreal (OT: along with his brother, who is now training in Montreal with Bruno Marcotte).

Latest rumor from this past week and the COS ice show - Orford and Hill have decided to both retire.

Looking forward to seeing Soucisse & Firus as I liked both of them in their previous partnerships.

And that's a shame that Orford & Hill could be done after just one season. Good luck to them as they begin the next stage of their lives.

O no, why? Canada lost so many ice dance teams this season.

Yes by being 5th at Nationals in Halifax, Orford & Williams would have been on the 16/17 National team and received some funding. But from what skaters have said in the past, the stipend helps but doesn't cover nearly all the costs associated with being an elite skater.

Doesn't everyone get knocked down a place because of V/M returning? Orford/Hill came fifth at Nationals which ordinarily would've put them on the team, qualified them for funding and competitions etc, but with V/M coming back, they're de facto sixth now.

No that doesn't happen. When Patrick came back last season, he was added but Keegan Messing kept his spot on the National team as the 5th place place finisher at 15 Nationals.

That's a shame. I loved their Theory of Everything FD. I thought they were better than Hawayek/Baker who used the same theme and music, and I even enjoyed their FD more than the movie itself.
