I do not understand this at all. I'm in no teknik for breaking, so take that for what this uninformed opinion is--but I don't understand the French guy being up there at all. He was my least favorite, not just of these four, but the least favorite of EVERYONE in this competition.
He has nice power moves and flexibility - he did those drops with great control, and had decent freezes. So the skill is there, I just didn't care for him (maybe there are indeed others who were better but lost to others in the bracket though). He didn't excite me at all like Victor, Shigekix, or Phil Wizard (and I do find him the worst of the ones who made the semis).

Favorite battle was the Shegekix/Phil Wizard Semi Final - just masterful from both b-boys. But favorite dance was what Shigekix did in his Quarter Final, especially to Apache.

To me, the Japanese and Canadian should be 1-2 and the American three.
Same.

In an earlier round, Victor beat an Asian guy who spun, like, 15 revolutions on his head. I thought he was robbed.

So I haven't been watching but have just seen a few things on social media. So for those who have watched breaking a question. Is Raygun from Australia to "breaking" what Eddie the Eagle (from UK) was to ski jumping? Because I don't know wtf I just watched
I haven’t been able to watch it all but my friend discovered it about 25 minutes ago lol.

Ohhhhh I ❤️❤️❤️’d Eddie the Eagle!

I almost want to go and watch the "street" RD from the Olympics, but on second thoughts. Even one second from the meh Ukrainian B-Boy's routine in the round robin stage had more musicality and creativity than practically every skating and ID program of the past 9.5 years combined, I'm just

Not sure how the b-girl comp was, I liked this though. Not really meant to be a real Olympic sport, but the skill level was great.

And I would like thank male-Karen for having the threads combined under "Breaking News" where a discussion like why is there no choreography in b-boy battles was happening, along with someone posting literal breaking news at one point, no doubt because of the very appropriate thread name.

Phil Wizard and Summer McIntosh seemed to be the highest profile Canadians coming into the Games and not only did they come through, they did so with relative ease. I am not used to that.

Also, if the IOC wants to make up more figure skating events to hand out more medals, besides a jumping contest, maybe skaters can do battles, where a DJ turns on some random song, and the skaters have to make up a performance on the spot.

I just disagree with the people saying the B-Girls weren't any good, the winner was great. B-Girling tends to be not as athletic or acrobatic as B-Boying though.

As an Aussie, for the first time in my life I have second-hand embarrassment 😂

Glad to see it won't be on the agenda for LA in 2028. I think it needs some more simmering time.

I'm hoping the 2028 games features the Dummies Guide to Cricket. I spent an entire afternoon watching a cricket match in Aukland with kind people attempting to explain...and I still don't get it.

It makes you question if maybe there were a better title and a different thread like, say, "B-Boys Breaking", people would have shown more interest and posted in it during and after the competition.

I thought it was for actual news not a specific sport. I was expecting something with electric boogaloo in the title when we got to breaking. does that Australian lady remind anyone else of honey g?

I know a lot of people who already know baseball (primarily Americans) have found this video useful: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EWpbtLIxYBk

You posting the above just goes to show how doubly gullible you are because:

1. You post information unquestioningly from a source that is clearly not impartial on the topic just because it fits your prejudice
2. You post in a thread that is for news about the sport of breaking :shuffle:
