When one thinks of the magnitude of the universe, it seems probable there are alien forms somewhere out there.
When one considers the entire universe, I think it is highly possible there are sentient life forms out there. Are they trying to sneak around our planet at night in brightly lit craft? Nope. Are the there UFOs? Yep. Seen them myself. Out for a walk one evening when I saw what looked like a spinning disk heading in my direction. As it got closer I could hear its propulsion system, a propellor, and it was an advertising plane with “zipper lights” slung underneath. So yes, I know there are UFOs in the strict sense, until they become IFOs.

The crisis centers on the Hubble tension. Measurements based on the early universe, using the cosmic microwave background mapped by the Planck satellite, predict an expansion rate of about 67 km/s per megaparsec. Direct observations of nearby galaxies using Cepheid stars and supernovae consistently produce a faster rate closer to 73 km/s per megaparsec.
