Anne Rice, the gothic novelist who wrote 'Interview with the Vampire,' dies at age 80

"Interview With the Vampire" was Rice's first novel but over the next five decades, she would write more than 30 books and sell more than 150 million copies worldwide.

Her son Christopher announced that there will be a public celebration of her life in New Orleans sometime in 2022.

RIP...I read a few of her books but loved how she cherished New Orleans.

She was one of my favorite authors. New Orleans really came alive for me through her books, even though I've never actually been there.
