The Announcement for the 73rd National Men's and Women's Figure Skating Championships was published on the KSF website on December 20 - it's the 3rd column ("Figure") and currently the 4th link down (javascript won't let me link directly): http://www.skating.or.kr/index.do

51 ladies? 🆘

Worlds spot is only selected by nationals result? Or combined with season so far?
Selection for Worlds and Jr. Worlds is decided only by nationals
There used to be a rule for reigning Worlds podium skater, he or she could be automatically selected for Worlds, even though she or he skips the nationals. I am not sure whether that exception rule is still valid or not.

By the way, selection for 4CC, Universiade and Asian Youth competition is already decided by Ranking which was held in mid December.

National Team envelope will be decided by combined scores of Ranking (already held in December) and Nationals.
Eight Sr. Ladies and four Sr. Men will be selected as Team A.

Skaters in Team A have advantage not only to get fund (even though it is just small amount) but also practice at National Taereung rink without rink fee. Considering rough environment in ice rinks in South Korea (packed with skaters even including public skating session) the advantage to practice at Taereung rink may make huge difference among competitiors.

Thanks a lot for the infos.

Do we have a final official result by the ladies of the ranking event? (Park was not mentioned anywhere with place/scores)

Eight Sr. Ladies and four Sr. Men will be selected as Team A.
Senior means senior or do they juniors count towards that too?

Sorry for another question: What about a Dabin Choi? Is there no chance for the team envelope without having competed in these events or are exceptions possible?

No chance for the envelope for Dabin Choi, because she didn't compete at Ranking event and will skip Nationals too.
As I wrote, there used to be execeptions for reigning Worlds podium skaters (for example Yuna Kim).
However, Dabin Choi will not be eligible because she didn't place within 3rd place (She withdrew after SP at the previous Worlds).

Is there hope for a livestream? 😇
There will be live broadcast for Sr. Men's event and (probably) recorded one for Sr. Ladies on network TV, KBS 1 (Korean Public Broadcasting)

KBS 1
SP: Jan. 12 (Sat) 3pm-4:10pm (Korean Time) / 1am-2:10 am (US Eastern Time)
FS: Jan. 13 (Sun) 3pm-4:10pm (Korean Time) / 1am-2:10 am (US Eastern Time)

KBS provides livestream for live broadcast but I think there will be region restriction.

http://onair.kbs.co.kr/

As you know, you can also wait for fancams which have been usually uploaded probably next day.

Thanks a lot for the infos.

Senior means senior or do they juniors count towards that too?
Eligibility for Senior and Junior at Ranking and Nationals is decided not by skaters' age but by their test level mainly decided by their jump capability.

I don't think Jr. ladies winner may surpass Sr. Ladies 8th place skater at combined score of Ranking and Korean Nationals.

For example,
here is the result of Jr. Ladies Top 5 at Ranking Competition in December.

1 YEON JEONG PARK KOR 151.75
2 MIN KYOUNG JEONG KOR 132.06
3 BOIN MOON KOR 131.28
4 MINCHAE KIM KOR 123.02
5 MINJI JI KOR 123.01

The score of Jr. Ladies winner, Yeon Jeong PARK is behind that of Sr. 8th place So Youn Park (166.65) by 14.9.

Top5 were stunning to watch!

You - you can't deny the TES; she is just not the type of skater I like, sorry 🤷🏼‍♂️
Lim - Puh, she has Top5 potential for worlds but can bomb big time. Hope she somehow remains on her feet at worlds and makes Top10. Korea really needs this 2nd spot back!
Lee - Absolutely gorgeous  My personal #1 of the SP (and I am still :drama: KOR missed a 3rd spot at junior worlds last season by 1point. I fear Lee is the one to stay at home in the end 😭)
Kim - So good. Really like her! :encore:
Park -:love::love: Redemption skate! Totally robbed on PCS, she sold it by far the best of all ladies tonight (might not be on the same level ins kills, but 28, boooh :mitchell:)

Just absolutely happy for Soyoun. Awesome skate
Really happy, Lee makes the junior worlds team, I absolutely love her SP.

Saying that, very sad for Kim missing it, though with 4CC's she has a big event too.

You has returned to POTC and ditched My Fair Lady as her LP.

Good for Park having a great nationals, and if something prevents Kim from attending 4CC, she'd be the first alternate, right?

Sad for Kim missing out on jr. worlds after her stellar season, but she still gets 4CC and with as many great young Koreans as they are, it's good to give several girls a post-season event. And Lee is delightful, what a great opportunity for her!

Yelim:wuzrobbed I know, I know. I should be thrilled she made the JGPF and is going to 4CCs, and I am. But gosh darnnit, I just wanted her to get one go at Junior Worlds. She earned it two years ago and didn't get to go due to injury. Last year Young & Eunsoo miss earning the third spot at Junior Worlds by one placement. It had to be a huge goal for Yelim this season. What doesn't kill you . . .

Really a great competition this year at Korean Nationals. Nice to see Soyoun come back so well at home. Best wishes for her at Universiade. Great skates for Young You and Haein in both the SP & LP.
