Mana Kawabe - "Paint It Black" emo cover in a dusty rose and black dress. I'm enjoying this - very precise skating and interesting choreo & body movement. LOL - the judge molestation and board touching on the closing choreo sequence was FABULOUS! Queen! She should easily go into the lead.

Ikura Kushida - now, we find out if Ami Nakai can get another trip to Jr Worlds or if it will be Ikura with a repeat trip. Hmmmm... Turnout on her 2nd to last jumping pass, but she manages to get a combo in on the last pass. She had a huge 13 pt lead from the SP and her PCS is on par with Ami, so I think she's done enough to beat her today.

Mako Yamashita - creme & mint green one-sleeved dress with crystals & stones all over it. Good Lord... This music she has is going to put me to sleep because it's 1am and I've already been up 9+ hours after sleeping most of the day thanks to last night's marathon session. I presume she will take the lead based on her TES but I enjoyed Mana's program much more.

The program did have energy level similar to when she was winning medals in GPS and Junior Worlds.
First two were yellow but I think it is the edge review, not rotation.

Kaoruko - oh, that's right, the "Titanic" program with the tiny "Heart of the Ocean" necklace. I resent this so much. Maybe she's supposed to be the iceberg. Her dress is, after all, white shading into dark grey around the mid-section and back to white on the skirt edges. I don't understand this costume at all. Like, the necklace would make one think she's supposed to be Rose, but the dress is not similar to anything Rose wears in the film.

I'd like to see her looking up and engaging the audience instead of looking at the ice - that's her area of necessary growth in the coming years.

Yuna Aoki - nerves right off the bat - doubles a planned triple. Settles back in with a nice 3t followed by a good 3s and then a 2a. I don't like the way the skirt is constructed. She fell later on in the program and the TES is going to drop her down the standings quite a bit. Probably will slot in between Hana & Mana.

ETA 124.00 FS; 194.07 overall - into 7th for now.

Rino Matsuike - she had a good SP, so I'm expecting a mess in the FS. 'Tis her way. Hmmmm... Solid through the first three jumping passes. Unexpected. Well, now, someone wants to be on the Worlds team... And then she doubles her last jump. She's left the door open for Wakaba and she knows it. TES is about .75 above Mako but there were several jumps being reviewed. We'll see.

ETA - 133.21 FS; 204.00 overall - into 1st for now. I question that judging. TES dropped by a good 5 points on review.

Wakaba Higuchi - anyone else think that she and Amber's dresses are fraternal twins? She is ON so far through three jumping passes. Ooooof - doubled a jump here in the middle of the program. Gets her combos in solidly and holds on for the last triple! This is easily going to beat Rino. Wakaba's going to Worlds!

ETA - 135.35 FS; 206.40 overall - into 1st!

Mone Chiba - gets the combo fine and then falls on her next jump. Then my stream to the TV glitched and I had to refresh so I missed her next jumping passes but TES is green, so I presume all is well. Bit tight on the landings of her jumps in the 2nd half. Nerviest FS I've seen from her all season. She may wind up behind Rino when it's all said and done, but she's still going to be named to the Worlds team by virtue of her GPF bronze silver and having the 2nd highest SB of the Japanese sr women.

ETA - 130.97 FS; 205.69 overall - so her SP lead was enough to keep her ahead of Rino - and she's also booked a return ticket to Worlds!
