Not just Petrosian but also Safonova, who competed at the OWG. Her score of 186.88 today at Trialeti puts her just behind Ahsun Yun on the GP Alternates List.If the ISU follows the same process for Petrosian as they did Gummenik, she will be placed on the Alternates List with her Trialeti score of 204.16, because she placed 11th/Top 75 on the 2025-26 SB list from the OWG.
That score would put her at the top currently.
In pairs, Mishina/Galliamov jump to the top of the GP Alts List with a score of 206.31 which means they'll definitely get the Finlandia spot opened up by PavSvia's withdrawal. The only question at this point is do they or BoiKoz get the GPdF spot vacated by PavSvia.
I analyzed the pairs grid last night. At this point, there are three teams with 2 GPs each who haven't competed/skated at all this season (Herrera/Khobta - GPdF & Finlandia; Izzo/Maierhofer - CoC & Finlandia; Nagaoka/Moriguchi - CoC & NHK) and a fourth team that appeared at their fed's test skate but then withdrew from their Challenger (Hocke/Kunkel - GPdF & Finlandia).
We are just under three weeks from the start of GPdF which is an awfully tight window for any Russians to obtain a visa and the closer we are to the competition, the more difficult it will be. It is entirely possible that we get a withdrawal close enough to the start of GPdF that no Russian team is able to accept due to a lack of French visas, so if I were Shin/Howe, I'd be preparing for the possibility of a late invitation to Angers.
I don't see any challenges for the Russian teams with getting Chinese visas so if an opening happens there, it should go to one of the AIN2 teams at the top of the Alternates List. Same with NHK - though I really expect YunaSumi to be at NHK.
At this point, there will be at least two AIN2 teams assigned to Finlandia which means that if there are two more withdrawals, only one of those can be filled by an AIN2 team due to the 3 entries per federation rule, which again, puts Shin/Howe in the position of needing to prepare for a potential Finlandia invitation & if not them then McBeath/Nagy.
