This season, we wanted our Free Dance to tell a story that is deeply personal to me.
I’ve lived with partial hearing loss since childhood, and this year, together with our team, we decided to turn that part of my life into something we could express on the ice.
For the first time, our music wasn’t simply something we found, it was created specifically for this program. Built around my own words, thoughts, and experiences, and brought to life with the help of AI, it became an original piece of music made for our Free Dance.
This program is about sound, silence, and the way we experience the world differently. About what it means to hear and what it means to feel something even when you can’t hear all of it. Through the choreography and our interaction on the ice, Gleb and I bring this story to life together, showing it not only through the music, but through emotion.
It feels a little scary to share something this personal, but also very special.
This season, we’re not just skating to music.
We’re telling a part of my story.

I've probaby forgotten this as well, so here's a reminder that Stephen Gogolev is skating his long program to Moulin Rouge.

This is new info that Stephen revealed today at High Performance Camp in Mississauga.

Her short program is a jazz medley: “‘Why Don’t You Do Right’ by Sinead O’Connor and ‘Sing, Sing, Sing,’ which was one of my very first programs when I was little.”
“Sing, Sing, Sing” is a full‑circle callback: “When I say it was my first program, I really mean it… I was quite literally seven.”
The free skate stays secret for now, but the intention behind her musical choices is clear: “They have a little more personality, and I think they reflect my personality a little bit better than some of the other ones I’ve chosen in the past.”

"This year’s short is a bit of a samba. We kind of went more Latin, Rio themed.”
The music blends two pieces, “Bayana” and “Megalena,” chosen in close collaboration with their coaches. Lia says the choice came from an instant connection: “It was in our playlist, and I remember listening to it and really gravitating towards it… I was so happy when all three of us agreed.”
With help from choreographers Madison Hubbell and Adrian Diaz and music editing by Kaitlin Hawayek, Lia and Trennt are leaning into their Latin flair and performance quality all season long.

As Trennt explains, the free is all about power with restraint and length: “Our free is [a] completely different realm… trying to show that we can have that long, effortless skating and [use] our power and our speed, but making it long.”
The Canadian champions are moving away from strict storylines like Gladiator and Pirates and into something more interpretive and artistic. Lia describes the concept at Skate Canada’s High Performance Camp: “It’s kind of like we’re two pieces of art, and music brings us to life… the music starts to build and we start to build with the music.”

For the waltz rhythm dance, they’ve gone full character: Mr. Bean goes to dance class.
Marie‑Jade is the dance teacher. Romain is Mr. Bean, learning cha‑cha, waltz and swing. Romain says the goal is simple: “We hope for no falling, but a lot of laughing.”
They wanted to “bring back the comedy” to their choreography while maintaining elegance. Romain explains that the challenge is “to see where we can push the comedy but still keep the classy into it,” and they admit they “might have gone too far a few times,” then had to step back. The program is designed to grow through the season, with more character and surprises layered in as they go.
