Starting this thread since feds are beginning to issue their selection criteria and hold selection competitions.

That may just be wishful thinking on their part. Every year, the JGP General Announcement includes the events at which both BLR & RUS would have entries if the ban was lifted prior to the individual event entry deadlines.

Just for reference, the entry deadline for JGPs, GPs and ISU Championships is 4 weeks prior to the first practice and the entry lists are published on the ISU website generally a day or two later. So, for this year, the entry deadlines are as follows:

August 19-22, 2026: Xi’An City, CHN (including Pairs) - July 21

August 26-29, 2026: Riga, LAT (including Pairs) - July 28

September 2-5, 2026: Bangkok, THA - August 4

September 16-19, 2026: Ankara, TUR (including Pairs) - August 18

September 23-26, 2026: Batumi, GEO - August 25

September 30-October 3, 2026: Ljubljana, SLO - September 1

October 7-10, 2026: Gdansk, POL (including Pairs) - September 8

There is, of course, plenty of time for the ISU Council to make a decision to allow the RUS & BLR juniors to compete but the clock is ticking. I'm curious as to whether or not, if they are allowed back, whether the ISU will give them 2 entries for pairs at either CHN or TUR to compensate for not being able to field a 3rd entry in either LAT or POL (neither of those countries are granting visas to Russians right now).

It's your wishful thinking. In Poland they arrested a Russian archeologist who they themselves invited to lecture in some university. Arrested at the request of Ukraine for digging in Crimea. Of course it was naive of him to believe in honesty of Poland. I mean if you're invited, you believe you will be treated well. Apparently not by Poles. He was saved by US prisoners exchange and given to Russia. Athletes are not tourists. They can get visas. But I seriously doubt Russia would send any athlete to Poland.
Whether Russian juniors will be included in JGP, remains unknown. But the new yesterday adopted correction in the Olympic Charter declaring neutrality is a real thing.

I'm sure there's more to the story than you're presenting here but this is not the thread for that discussion, so why don't you just take your troll self on out of here, thankyouverymuch.
 
Poles probably still have not forgotten that whole invasion of their country in 1939 that Russian did when they teamed up with the Germans and ravaged their country. You sort of never forget those things no matter how long ago.

You are making no sense. You yourself stated here that Poland doesn't issue visas to Russians. When you were proven wrong, you claim it's off topic. It's pathetic cowardness to make a statement if you are not ready to be challenged. At the same time you "like"-ed the political post here that suits your view and didn't claim it was off topic. That's hypocrisy.

ISU indeed in the past issued quotas to Russian and Belorussian junior skaters. But the Russian ministry never put the selected events on the calendar. Since neither ISU nor anyone says us anything, naturally fans make their own assumptions that something is going on and Russia chose the events where they are ready to send their skaters. Poland is doomed. Whether those assumptions are right or wrong, we will eventually know.
 
First two JGP Event Announcements have been posted on the ISU website. Still waiting on the 2026-27 JGP General Announcement to be published.

Men - CHN (3 entries as host); JPN, KOR & USA - 2 each; it appears that BEL has declined their guaranteed entry in this event as they don't have an entry for this competition; neither NZL nor GER were allocated a 2nd entry, so GER must have declined a 2nd entry for this event
Women - AUS, JPN, ISR - 2 each; CHN (3 entries as host), GEO, KOR - 1 entry & neither GEO nor KOR were allocated a 2nd entry
Pairs - CHN (unlimited entries as host); CAN, UKR, USA - 3 each; ESP, FRA, GBR, ITA, SUI, SVK - 2 each
Dance - CHN (3 entries as host); FRA, UKR, USA - 2 each; no additional entries allocated to CAN, GER or ITA

My heart is already sinking every time I see BLR & RUS allocatd spots. God-awful costumes, anorexic looking teenagers, mean coaches, the whiff of illegal substance in the air. It was so much better without this. (don`t want to kick off the discussion again, but....)

Dwayne Li will do China and Thailand stages according to the Federation newsletter.
They have Women spots in China, Thailand and Slovenia.
