World Cup Futball is over, American Football has commenced with preseason games.
Does someone has a title suggestion? I could come up with some, but they'd have a KC slant.

Also - I thought Troy Aiken was fired after his DUI arrest? Yet I see/hear him with Joe Buck commentators tonight

I like Romo. He first caught my attention in 2018 when New England beat the Chiefs in the AFC championship game. He predicted every play New England called on that drive in OT for a touchdown. And I like a lot of what he has said in other games. I think he and CBS have been at odds before the DUI and getting a dui gave CBS an opportunity to move off of him.

That said my favorite announcers are both CBS: Ian Eagle and Kevin Harlan. They have been sure and steady for decades. And I have memories of some of their broadcasts that are both funny and exciting.

I'm half-watching Ravens-Vikings pre-season and it took at least 5 minutes before I realized that the Ravens are the ones in white jerseys, not purple (b/c duh, they're the away team). Clearly, I'm not ready for the season. :slinkaway

It's nice that they're doing well in the pre-season but since no one is playing the starters, I'm kind of meh.

Denver started Bo Nix and he played the first quarter and part of the second I think. I thought the Ravens played good, but I missed the first quarter.

Andy Reid has said Patrick won't play in preseason which I have mixed feelings about - protect his knee for a couple more weeks vs getting a feel for a game that's not training camp.

The Bills vs Browns game was delayed for an hour because of weather. I'm patiently waiting for the storm to arrive here. I can't imagine how much Lake Erie has weakened it though. Oh. The Bills won. And if I was coaching Cleveland, I'd choose Sanders as the QB. 🤷🏻‍♀️

I had to turn over from the Chargers vs Saints game 3 minutes into the second half. They had 1 female guest "announcer" who talked solely about herself and every once in a while would say he caught the ball, there's a yellow fall on the field, an go, go, go

After two preseason games, I'm back to the optimism of "maybe this is their year". Then the meaningful games will start and I'll be let down once again! Oh well, always a fan, through thick and thin. Go Cowboys!

I have to ask, how did you end up a fan of the Phillies & the Cowboys??? Growing up in the Philly burbs those 2 things would never go together 😄

I was a football fan before baseball. My neighbor who’s property we lived on when I was a teen was a football fan who loved the Cowboys, so I watched with her and became a fan.

I became a baseball (And Phillies) fan in the late 80’s when my cousin got on the team! So I had no choice! (Besides I’m also in love with John Kruk!)

I’m committed to ignoring the preseason so I’ll tune in when we hit September.

Yeah, the preseason doesn't mean much. Especially when my Vikings will be meeting the Packers for the regular season opener. Talk about starting out with a bang! It's the biggest rivalry Minnesota has when it comes to sports. Nothing else really comes close.

I watch to see rookies like Emmett Johnson. It was preseason I first saw Xavier last year. I'm impressed with Nussmeyer.

Plus I'm super tired of reruns of NCIS - I'm on season 10. - since I can't do my flowers.

The MCG holds 100,024 at capacity and they sold it out. Got a stunning spring day for it too.

The 49ers have garnered a lot of goodwill coming down early, doing school visits, sausage sizzles etc so I think most Aussies want them to win.
The Rams really screwed up. I worked for QANTAS in Los Angeles and flew to Sydney for business. It always took me a full day just to come out of the ether, after arrival. Then a day or two just to get back to 100%, of course, I wasn't playing football, just trying to get thru a meeting or training class. Flying out of LAX on Tuesday for a game on Thursday (Friday Melbourne time) was PPPP (P..s Poor Prior Planning). I read this morning that they did a similar thing when playing last year in London, but going US to Europe isn't the same as going US to OZ.

The 49ers did the smart thing, and benefited by getting some new Aussie fans.

Well to talk to the Rams staff they had cracked the code to arriving late and still being rested. They looked unprepared. I'm glad the NFL sent two top tier teams though. It was competitive for awhile.

Yep. Was the first thing I said when I saw their plan, it was stupid. The jetlag on the US > Australia leg is brutal, but more than that, they seem to have just entirely forgotten that spending 16 hours in a plane, no matter how many lie-flat beds there are, is tiring in and of itself.

Apparently at the merch stores they sold out of 49ers merch, while their boxes were overflowing with Rams stuff. I'll be interesting to hear more about how the crowd found the whole thing. We're used to two very different styles of football here but both are much more free-flowing and fast-moving.

Watching NFL Redzone. Early impressions: The AFC traditional powers look good---especially the Ravens. Tampa Bay looks good if they could stop fumbling.
