Jugnauth's FS - Yesterday (cover) - skated the cleanest/stood up on everything in the FS - I thought she was great!

I really enjoyed her programs from the Next Gen competition. I was pleased to see her as a substitute for the JGP in Thailand. Hopefully she will get a junior international later in the season.

Gabrielle Jugnauth has been added to the NextGen Team and will make her Junior international debut at Tayside Trophy in Dundee, Scotland, Oct. 7-11!

That's great! Skate Canada hasn't added her profile to the NextGen page yet (though they did add the new JGP bound pair teams so hopefully soon). I think they do a good job getting additional junior skaters international experience at the non JGP events. Hopefully they will add this to their international assignments page soon. It would be great to see a big Canadian delegation there.

So Skate Canada posted the assignments for Nebelhorn (Landry) and Nepela (Daleman and Rose). I wonder if Rose is being considered for the Skate Canada International TBD.

With Lia confirmed for the Gdansk JGP (not that there was any doubt), Canada has opted to give its four spots to two skaters (her and Victoria). I think prioritizing the best girls is the right approach here.

Rob Brodie's interview with Sara-Maude Dupuis: Reaching for new skating heights

“So I was like, okay, let’s just go for it, and it worked out pretty well. And then this year is is nice because I’m approaching it with a year of experience. My coach (Stephane Yvars) always tells me that from his experience with his students, it takes about three years to get a triple Axel to feel like any other jump in competition. I’m already on Year 2, and I’m already feeling the improvement.”

And when she began the work on a new free program this season with choreographer David Wilson, the program was laid out with the triple Axel as the opening jump in the routine.

The music for the program is “The Thrill is Gone,” by British artist Raye, who Dupuis says “has a few mainstream songs, but ‘The Thrill is Gone’ is not one of them.” But Raye happens to be a singer that Dupuis says has been a favourite of hers.

Per Skate Canada's press release Sara Maude Dupuis got the TBD at Skate Canada International.

I see that Woodley and Kwon are listed as withdrawn in this week's Skate Ontario event. Woodley has already competed this summer but Kwon as not. I hope Kwon is okay and that she will be able to make her debut for Canada soon.

Also does anyone know if Hetty Shi and Kaiya Ruiter are planning to skate this season? I haven't seen their names in any competition entries yet.

Laurie Nealin's interview with Breken for the Winnipeg Free Press: Summer success sends Brezden to the Black Sea

After turning heads with her fifth-place finish at the Canadian championships in 2025, she settled for 12th last January when training interruptions spoiled her preparation.

“(The injury) tends to flare up at the worst times. Right before Montreal, it wasn’t feeling too great,” she admitted.

“This summer, I’ve really focused on doing my physio exercises and my different recovery methods, so I’ve been doing a better job of managing (the pain) for sure. I’ve been able to continue training whereas there were points before when we had to come to a full stop.

I wonder about Kwon and Ruiter too. Ruiter seems to have slipped...........she was 2nd in Canada, then 1st, then 4th and down to 7th?? not sure. I hope she continues as I like her presence on the ice and she seems able to control her nerves. Needs to complete full rotations.
