Lift didn't go up quite as easily as it should've.

The music does nothing for me, but the choreography of this program is quite good. Shades of an Ice dance program at points, even. She's always been so consistent in the short programs. With Seegert they were always skating some sweet, uplifting, happy music but this is a nice change.

And Volodin is, in fact, nice to look at too.

Minerva Fabienne has officially made my short list of my favorite skaters in the world today. I think she's wonderful. And, Nikita's not chopped liver either. LOVE this pair. Loved that performance.

Minerva really bloomed once she got rid of that lumberjack Seegert. She's oozing so much charisma all over the ice, I think they will have to zamboni before the Japanese.

Said that, they were cautious and I'm unsure whether I think this program really suits their more reserved personality.

First program that deserved + GoE across the board. The lift went up REALLY close to the barrier / judges. I wonder if their tracking was slightly off

Miura/Kihara are effortlessly amazing. Even with this horrible music.

I still have no idea how D/D won the worlds.

Miura and Kihara have the short program of the season, by far. It's like a Suguri 2004 short part 2. But for them it fits them so perfectly, much more than anything else they've ever skated.

That said, I still think the overall ease of the seven elements goes more in favor of the Germans.

ETA- he has much more of a presence in person, up close from the first row I was very surprised.
