Are non-surgical cosmetic treatments offered for free in Russia? Seems like everyone over 18 has had them.

What a day! Lots of surprises but glad to see Sasha is still in top 5…and Adelia Petrosian in the final group, too. WOWEE!

I'm thinking she would need a convincing skate, though, and would need to be very close to the top 3 to make a case.
I agree she does need a convincing skate and honestly she probably needs Trusova to make some mistakes too.

But still it's not as bad as it could have been, she's still 4th of the age eligble skaters, even if she is 7th overall right now. The third spot will be between Liza and Sasha, just as most of us have thought.

Great, emotional day of skating, now I'm out, need to go pick up a birthday cake and a few other things.

I have been watching FS since 3am. Now it's almost 11am. That is 8 hours of skating, I am tired. May get some sleep.

The women's competition was very good, though my favorites didn't have a good day. A lot of talent, as usual,in the young skaters but many of them were just jump/spin ready but not really performance ready. It got a bit boring at times. Good luck to the young skaters for their further development.

Why were Maia's marks so low? Did she ur the 3Lz? It just looked forward to me, but not ur. I thought she would go for the 3A but may be she does it only in the LP.Sasha went for it but fell, so it didn't work that well for her.

Kamila was in a class by herself. Anna impressed me, as usual. These two and Muravieva had the best performances today. Sinitsyna was good too but her jumps are tiny and may be they cost her?

Look, Liza is only 3 points behind Sasha. Yes, she needed a clean SP but it's not completely over yet for her. I'm still holding onto a sliver of hope for Liza tomorrow.

And, in positive news, my boss said we can log off at 1pm today if we have all of our work done. Checkity-check-check, it shall be done!

She's a nice skater, but somewhat lacking in charisma.

If for any reason she pulled ahead of Trusova and Tuktamysheva after the long, I'd hope for a skate off. :shuffle:
I think she is not very consistent and she is still developing. So if I Were the RSF, I would pick one of the more experienced skaters like Sasha or Liza.

Watch the top 3 juniors and you're looking at the podium for junior worlds.

I'd also speculate we're going to be seeing the Olympic podium as well.

What I wonder is which of the Russians will do senior Worlds. Valieva for sure, probably Trusova, but I wonder if Anna would go? She already has a world title and if she gets two Olympic medals (team and individual), she may be ready to move on to other things. Tuk? No idea.

Akatieva and Zhillina aren't here though.
I know we're all fixated on the Olympics and who will make the team, but Junior Nationals will be the hunger games 2.0 to see who makes Junior Worlds.
it always is. Junior nationals is as exciting as senior nationals in Russia. Pairs, women, men and dance are all exciting with the juniors. I think Russia will sweep women, pairs, and men (depending on what Malinin does with regard to Jr worlds). Dance is a little more spread out with the Canadian and US teams being contenders, but I always look forward to junior nationals and worlds. I think not having junior worlds the last two years has really impacted a lot of skaters. I'm hoping they don't threepeat with cancellations.

I know Zhilina had an injury but why is Akatieva not at nationals?

Back from the arena. Terribly gutted about Tuktamysheva. She falters again when she needs it most. I know it is not completely over yet, but now a ticket to Euro/Olympics requires a lot of stars to align tomorrow, including her own morals after today’s disastrous performance.

I really liked Muravyeva and Samodelkina, both were revelations for me as I don’t follow juniors. Both are elegant and nicely packaged.

Shcherbakova’s programme is so horrendous that it makes her, such a delicate skater, look so unrefined. And I don’t think it is only about the lack of mileage.

Petrosyan looks so much better live than on video. Finished movements and lots of personality, her skating is not small at all despite her being tiny. My fingers are crossed that she lasts, in Eteri’s camp or elsewhere.

They updated SP results. Muravieva got deduction for the late start and now Scherbakova is ahead of her
