Raf told Ilia that he did well in Russian, then shook his hand. That's about as happy as he can get, right?
He also hugged him when he came off the ice. We can't expect much more reaction from Raf until 2026 ;) (hopefully), lol.

Great jumps from Ilia, but he definitely needs a big upgrade next year in program selection and choreography. This program, I'm sorry, is dullsville.

I liked it better here than I have in previous events - he looked like he relaxed a little in the second half. But I agree, I’d like to see more of his personality in both programs next season.

There was no way that was going to even be close, but I’m glad that after a few ups and downs this season, he got to finish with two solid performances. That will hopefully be a nice confidence-boost going into next season.

My work break happened just as Ilia was finishing. I rewound back and watched him. First jump looked like a lot of snow. He's leaving points on the table with some of the spins. That said, this kid is special, has an excellent team around him. Bring on the next quad, the Ilia vs. Yuma quad. I'm ready.

Disagree.

The David Cook cover of Billie Jean is a much better program for Ilia than this Woodkid FS.

I don’t think he particularly sold either of them and I’m not a fan of any version of “Billie Jean,” but I do agree that the short was probably better packaging on a superficial level.

Next season I’d like to see him skate like he cares about his music. He’s got good fundamentals, the performance will come with time.

Nice for the Japanese men to salvage some sort of dignity with a bronze here, by the way.

Does Kazakhstan even have 3 junior age-eligible men to send to Jr Worlds next year? I know Jirenbayev should be able to get the TES mins since he was at 4CCs this year, but I'm not sure about Bralin or the other guy they sent out on the JGP last fall.
