How long do we have to wait for GP assignments?

For those watching... we have Ted Barton commentating with a partner - Lisa something (I apologize for not catching her last name). So far, the camera work is much better than I've seen from other competitions (my exposure to Synchro has been US Nats and Jr Worlds this season, so take it with a grain of salt, lol). I like the color analyst who is explaining some of the technical rules about how the different levels are achieved on some of the elements. I'm sure I'll pick up more as the broadcast goes on.

I missed Turkey and Australia, but was really impressed with Italy's Team Hot Shivers, who skated to some tango music and are in second behind Sweden's Team Inspire - also quite good even with a fall on the intersection element.

I wish the camera would not switch to ice level closeups. No commentary during the skating is good with me.

Wow. Team Nexxice from Canada was great! Really expressed the music, Shania Twain's "Man, I Feel Like a Woman", well. And some really great elements - their intersection was fantastic.

I wish it wasn't my busiest time of year so I could go!! I must say it was cool driving down King St. on my way to choir rehearsal seeing the Swiss synchro team crossing the road in their team jackets and scarves.

Well, my Peacock cut out on Canada's Les Supremes so I have no comments - their TES is higher than Nexxice, so I'm guessing they'll be in 1st.

Shame for Team USA's Haydenettes who took themselves out of medal contention with 2 falls. Miami University was great though. I wish I knew enough about synchro to understand why their TES is so much lower than the two Canadian teams - to my eye, they were at least as good as Nexxice.

I think this had been my favourite ISU volunteering gig! Such great energy! I love how all the families and fans travel with the teams. I’m learning so much about Synchro. Tomorrow night on YouTube PJ is having a watch party for the free skate. I’m watching it live as my shifts finished my then. I enjoyed both Canadian teams, so fast and the Miami university team, I actually thought they were better on the practices too than the other USA team. From the practices though my favourite have been the Marigold Finnish team. Let’s see how they are when it’s not practice.

It’s the speed that is the difference live and the closeness.

The energy seems incredible and it's so wonderful to finally have a decent audience at a competition in Canada after the past few years! Feels like we're finally back to normal (or as normal as life can be still coming out of a pandemic).

Finland's teams have a reputation that precedes them so I'm excited to see what they can do here. :)

Yes I saw the Finnish team when we were at Worlds in Helsinki they were the entertainment their synchro team. At practices they have had lovely vocal fans. They are all so pretty as well!

I have to say, the two Finnish teams were amazing. Ted's in my head, calling Marigold Ice Unity "really spectacular" and, yeah... I felt like I was seeing the northern lights moving during their program. Just magical. And Helsinki Rockettes were equally mesmerizing in a completely different way.

Much better skate for Australia's Team Unity today than yesterday - and I really liked their program! Some really interesting choreography to my eye.

Geoffrey Brissaud : french ice dancer
Gregory Brissaud (brother) : french synchro skater
Frantz-Michael Rouffanche (cousin) : ex french/currently czech synchro skater
(can't spot the Brissaud/Rouffanche girls, the boys are easier to find)

It's a family franchise. :biggrinbo

Edit : I think I spotted James-Vladimir and Sarah-Marine Rouffanche among the Zoulous too.

Just back what an exciting event my ears hurt from the screaming lol. Les Supremes were excellent well deserved and my Finish fav came second! So Canada Gold and the two Finish teams 2nd and 3rd. Shame the Finnish team fell.

Freddy Mercury? I thought I’d seen enough Queen programmes in skating to more than last a lifetime, but the Czech team were really fun.

I watched the last two groups. Definitely a fan of team Czech and their Queen program and of course the winners with White Crow. Sad for the Finns who fell, but loved the other Finns and hated the Haydenettes music to the point I didn’t appreciate them.

Congratulations to Les Suprêmes coach Pascal Denis, who is also an I.AM team member. He's had quite a year of coaching!
