You

3z-3t looked good

Great ending timed to the music

Think she could put more feeling into her movement, particularly at the beginning.

Well done.

falls taking her bows.

Part of me wonders if she should ditch the 3A in the free skate, which hasn't been all that reliable, and she doesn't need it to beat Sinitsyna or Frolova.

No, but she will at 4CC in few weeks. I'd keep it, it will be interesting to see what they decide.

Urashadze

3z tano-2t nice combo, but easier than she wanted
2a
3r

Lots of transitions in the program. Not enough technical content to contend with the top skaters. She is disappointed.

Sinistsyna has been working on a 3A (few inside-rink videos of it).
... and quads (but it is not on video)

But! i am shocked that her 3lz-3T combo in SP is NOT marked as under-rotated...... Even of Russian fan-sites many noted that it is an obvious UR.....

I think ANY elite ladies have to have 3A/quads now, if she want to remain/stand on top of podium.

Kawabe have 3A.

Only had time to watch this now so a few random comments

Kawabe was fab! :cheer: Loved the music, loved her energy and expression!

Also great skate from Mazzara, good for her!

I'd watch Ksenia's SP a thousand times. But I'm maybe a little worried that although this was much better than the disaster at Nats, that 3lz-3t was still nervy (kudos for managing to add the 3t!). :yikes: I need her to get back to her JGP form for the crucial Junior Nats! I'll be so :wuzrobbed if she somehow ends up not making the JW team.

Kiibus :( She also needs to get back to her early season form! I hope she didn't already peak back then.

I don't know why I don't remember Tornaghi although I'm sure I saw her before. Italy has quite a few interesting up-and-coming ladies right now. I still love Gutmann for her great programs. But Tornaghi is wonderful too. Loved the expressive footwork!

What is You doing here? :lynch: Sorry to strike again with my "you're not a junior anymore" but she medaled at a senior GP, goddammit! :drama: And I'm saying this despite her being a big fave of mine. Oh well, maybe I'll forgive her this one competition :p because who knows if she'll ever make it to the real Olympics, so at least she'll have this memory.

Edit: I haven't posted much about Finnish juniors in the last couple of years because to be honest, I haven't found them that interesting. But Pelkonen (14), who is here, left a great impression on me at Nats in December. :) She kinda came out of nowhere to skate a clean 5 triple FS and claimed the junior title. She had such nice power jumps, it was great to watch! I realize she's a total novice here and barely has any international experience. But I wish her all the best in the future - for certain she has a coaching team that will take their time with her and not rush things. :)

Guaranteed medal for Korea, gold or silver. After all the hype and promotion since she was 11, the Fed wants its cut.

This young lady is competing in her 3rd event in essentially a month. She had zero guaranteed GPs based on her results last season. Only one as of June. Zero guaranteed berths at Worlds or Junior Worlds this season as there was real competition at home for both events. She had to compete against last year's JGPF finalist, Yelim, and a medal-winning Korean junior field fresh from this season's JGP at home in an extra qualifying event to earn this berth. She's worked for every opportunity she has gotten. Never medaled at Junior Worlds. Never got to attend a JGPF. Only has one JGP medal. I guess she has every right to be here.

You is growing on me a lot this season. For me there are vast improvements performance wise but how does she manage with all these competitions 😱
I really hope she hits that 3A both in SP and LP at Worlds just to shake things up a bit 😁
(Was she not training with Tom Z last season? Perhaps it would be good to have him still in the background to keep work on that 3A)
Ksenia's SP is one of the most interesting this season but imo she is not a stand out skater yet.
I really loved the Italian and the French skaters 😍
They were really a surprise for me and especially the Italian girl had a beautiful choreographed program.

The fight for the gold will be interesting between You and Ksenia although Frolova may be the dark horse. Has the Japanese girl landed a 3A in her LP before or maybe she will not attempt it here?

Oh I'm not questioning her right to be here - obviously she has every right! It's just a personal preference of not seeing skaters who've already moved to seniors with relative success go back to junior events to pick the icing from the cake. Or just any skater, success or not, staying in juniors for over 4 seasons. Obviously it's within the rules and they should do just as they please or what they think is good for them. I will just snark a little here and there. :p Anyway, like I said, I think this event is also maybe a little different from the ISU events and I'm happy for everyone who gets the experience. :)

Of course, if they change the senior age limit (which I cautiously see myself supporting nowadays), I'll have to get used to seeing skaters on the junior circuit for much longer.

ITA with Hanna. People would be screaming their heads off if Russia had sent two of the 3As who actually earned the two spots at last year's junior worlds. But, I also don't begrudge You getting to go and I hope she skates well in the free.

Should be an entertaining LP. The top 9 are relatively close and I expect to see a good deal of movement.

And selfishly, I should be able to watch most of it live, as Monday mornings are usually slow.

Regarding You, I have no qualms at all about her participation here. If you are within the age limits, go for it. But I had no problem when Gedevanishvili went back to Junior Worlds after medalling at Euros.

I will just snark a little here and there. :p

Eva Lotta was better when she was competing every week. :shuffle: Maybe she's like Tuk the year she won everything and needs to do 8493020 comps in the season.

That was a surprise! Strong lutz and flip, fabulous costume change, and nice interpretation to the music. Very enjoyable.

Interesting Bulgaria is starting to get some nice depth in ladies, with Feigin and Levushkina as well.

Has Wang always been with Gambill? I don’t recall Gambill with her at the JGP
