Trivia, Rakic is now on course for Canada's fifth consecutive fourth-place finish at YOG, of the five Canadian athletes who have completed a YOG event.

This streak will end tomorrow, between Carle finishing way lower than that and (hopefully) a Canadian dance team finishing higher.

Every time I see this program from Mozalev, I have the mixed emotions of being happy for the Gangsta’s Paradise part but also wishing a skater would do a whole program to it. And someone who would really get into it.

Yes, the last music cut is such a letdown, too.

Great quad toes from Mozolov and overall quite a decent job despite the axels. The music cuts are kinda but I like them overall!

Kagiyama is soooooo smooth ! That was fabulous!! I mean, the speed and height and flow and distance of that last lutz! And everything else, too.

He does have the lazy Japanese free leg (tm) though. Although not nearly as bad as Shoma.

Chris has said "catch my breath" 3 times in the last minute.

Kagiyama's LP is the best thing I've seen in men's this season (maybe aside from Chen). I'm officially a big fan.

Congratulations, Yuma!

Note: I don't get why Chris implied Yuma couldn't catch Mozalev before Yuma skated. They have pretty much identical difficulty. Yuma blew an axel in the short. Mozalev blew one in the free (and had trouble with the other). Yuma has stronger presentation. Why wouldn't Chris have been able to picture Yuma winning? Maybe had only seen him skate at the JGPF, which was really Yuma's weakest event this season?

A real highlight for me was watching Noah B. skate on home ice in front of a home crowd at the biggest event so far in his life - and deliver!!

I was too busy to watch this live (i.e. asleep) but it was a great start to my afternoon to watch. My two highlights were Chris talking about how everything Samsonov did was unbelievable (Eteri fetus lands underrotated 4Z with bad technique--WOW! Junior man does 3F3T combo--WOW!) and Kagiyama everything.

I have been raving about Kagiyama since I first saw him skate last season. I also like a few of the Russian juniors, including Mozalev, so hopefully seniors will be more interesting (at least to me) later on in this Olympic cycle when they move up. And I do think Samsonov has some good qualities, as well as some of the most unusual eyebrows in contemporary skating.

I love Mozalev so much. RUS fed better hands him the JW's ticket out now. He really should get it, even if he fails to make Top3 at nationals. Such a good season for him.
I am amazed, his arms never got caught in this weird armography going on the entire program.
But of course I love it

Samsonov, well, the potential and the grumpy face keeps it very entertaining.

She is Misao Sato who is on Kagiyama's ISU bio as a choreographer. She's a former ice dancer (bronze medalist at 1992 and 1993 Nats). BTW I love Sato's choreo. She has made some fun/interesting programs for Nagai, Tomono, Akio Sasaki, Akihiro Sato and Kaori's recent EX.

Congrats to Kagiyama and Sato for the gold!
