Khavronina/Cirisano - minor twizzle mishap, but still a 63 point score. Looks like the judges are going to be scoring the juniors high here.

Zehnder/Sieber - when the Swiss suddenly produced a dance team who hadn't even been assigned to the JGP previously, I wasn't optimistic. These two are way behind even the minor other teams, but all the same, they got through that okay.

Chirizano has pretty remarkable edges and skating skills for his age.

Loved Utana and Shingo, pity about mistake :(

A fall from Chen in Wolfkostin/Chen right at the end. They do seem to fall a lot. :shuffle:

To be fair, all the top teams so far have made mistakes. Twizzle problems for the young Russians and also a fall from Yoshida/Nishiyama

D'Alessandro/Waddell

Light on their feet and smooth moves. Most mature performance so far. Been awhile since I've ubered a Canadian junior team, but I'm getting close with this team. So good! :cheer:

Well, Canada 1 certainly took advantage of the other's mistakes. Good for them. ETA well the judges didn't think they had an advantage after all. They were not happy with being 2nd

D'Waddells. Cool stationary lift followed by a sit spin at the end, liked the choreo! :cheer2: That said, I think I prefer their last year's short.

I dislike this camerawork. They filmed the coolest bit of choreo in this program from an angle that almost totally obscures it.

Must have been some level issues there (I find it especially hard to watch ice dance without the tech tracker).

Tyutyunina/Shustitskiy

Such ease to their movement. Amazing glide and fantastic synchronization on the twizzles. Not as diva-ish as the other Russians, but the la la land fits their more gentle style.

Loved T/S but LaLaLand helps though. They are so light on their feet!

The crowd is amazing! I really hope we're growing some new skating fans there as we speak! :cheer:

Makita/Gunara

Basics looked weaker following the Russians. She exited twizzle a bit quickly. Lots of energy.

I noticed on Khavronina/Cirisano's ISU profile that he was born in Italy. I wonder what his story is.
His mother is Russian, father - Italian. He was born in Italy and they lived there all together until his parents divorced. When he was 5, his mother and Dario moved to Russia.
