It’s cool that softball is that popular down there. 😎 Is baseball gaining traction?
Not really. It's more of a novelty. Whereas softball is the logical progression after tee ball and modball, which a lot of girls play at school and then stay with their friends in.

I'm glad the OG organizers are at least allowing athletes into the venues to watch the other events, similar to what happened at Worlds in Stockholm. Might not have as loud of a crowd but there is at least some support for these athletes in the stands. And, it was so heartening to see crowds on the streets for yesterday's men's cycling road race.

Australia loading the bases. Oh hell, I'm gonna die of stress.

Also, I'm not enjoying that we have American commentators on the Australian broadcast.

One thing I've noticed about the softball games earlier this week is that the camera angle toward home plate from behind the pitcher is really bad. It's impossible to tell what's really a strike or a ball. I was questioning some calls until I realized just how skewed that camera angle is.

The screen died on the my cable. I pay Xfinity way too much for this nonsense! I guess I just have to stick to my laptop for the rest of the night.

NBCSN? That happened to me earlier this week. It was odd and it was gone for a good hour or more. Luckily, it was around 1am, so I just went to bed.

So this might be a dumb question but ... why can't women play baseball?
I don't think it's a matter of can't just that women's Softball is a more established sport internationally than women's Baseball - you could ask the same question as to why the men can't play softball.

But there are men's recreational softball leagues. I think? I could be wrong but at some point, you have to wonder if the older a man gets the less likely he is to want to wrench his arm pitching in baseball games versus pitching in softball games, right?

Men's softball, just like women's baseball, are played recreationally & internationally, but neither is played as widely men's baseball, or women's softball so those are the sports that are in this Olympics.

Congrats to the ladies in the 100m freestyle relay. Very exciting race! The US had two black ladies on their team, I don’t think that has ever happened before.

The adult softball leagues tend to be coed and are mostly teams formed from weirdo guys the local workplaces and churches.
