Ooh what a finish to the cycling. Go Ecuador. Well done Mexico in archery, Gold for South Korea. And woo Indonesia get a medal in the weightlifting. Looking forward to the swimming coming up around 1.5 hours time.
Israel finishes day 1 with more medal(s) than the US
This will not last.
Heh - there are four swimming finals today... 2 rude 'Merikuns in each of the individual finals and the US women in the 4x100 free.So nice to see so many different countries medaling on Day One. The US's turn will come I'm sure.
Yeah, yeah. I noticed that the finals were in the morning when I was looking at the schedule and knew it was the NBC effect, lol. But, hey, really, it's just 10am for me. My brain is going to struggle with "this is really happening tomorrow/Day 2" due to the 16 hour time difference between Tokyo and the West Coast. In fact there are swimming finals tomorrow. Tokyo is not on US time, despite NBC's best efforts
I'm so thrilled for her that she's back in contention. It seems like the expectations after Rio really weighed on her, and she was so, so happy with her 100 free time at Trials.Such a shame that Taylor Ruck has had so many problems in the last year or so, after being a mainstay of Canadian women's swimming for the inter-Olympic period. Meanwhile Penny recovered her form just in time for Tokyo.
