I really enjoyed the free skates of Calissa Adlem and Kara Yun (unofficially 1st & 3rd place finishers) in Pre-Novice - both showed good musicality/expression, I thought. Yun landed 2A, 3T & 3S (a masked Joanne McLeod was in the kiss & cry with her).

Kevin Reynolds was listed as the Data Input Operator for the Pre-Novice Men.

ETA: Music for the 3 boys was Chaplin, Figaro/opera, and The Godfather - fun event.

Terry Jin won the Novice Men FS (63.66 unofficial) skating to Scheherzade.
David Li's FS is to "First Light" by Cinematic Pop, ft. Spencer Jones (finally realized why the song sounded so familiar to me - it was Boyang Jin's SP last season).

Top 2 in Novice Ladies FS were Emily Sales with an unofficial score of 63 (skated energetically to a Dolly Parton medley and looked like she had a blast! her performance was taped in Kelowna) and Luka Miyake with 62 (skated live to a lyrical Ennio Morricone film soundtrack; coached by Joanne McLeod).

Skate Ontario is hosting a simulation on Oct. 13 & 14, but that's about it. The various Sectionals will start in November.

Kapeikis' 3A looks close - hopefully he'll land it soon in comp.! 8 triple attempts, 4 falls but he went for everything at least, 99.12 in FS, 153.69 total.

Chiu tried 4S for the first time in comp. & fell, which may have affected the 3A attempts that followed (1A pop, 3A fall) but he recovered quite well in the rest of the program. 102.48 in FS, 173.23 1st.

I'm glad they are training mates.

Shohei Law finished 3rd - 96.86 in FS, 150.43 total.

For planning purposes, we anticipate the approximate dates for the videos to be filmed will be between November 4-13, 2020. This is tentative and will be confirmed based on ice bookings. Skate Ontario will be organizing the video filming and locations will be chosen based on current travel recommendations.
