That quality of Kihira's program, from the choreography, music, jumps, and execution, was better than the rest of the field combined. Wow.
Just stunning.

World Champion contender. Seriously.

The 3as were incredible, but the program and packaging is world class, too. Damn. Totally loved every second.

I’m so impressed.

Aughhhhhhhh I miss the best skate of the competition.
Rewind the YouTube stream!

ETA - I still can’t believe that was a 3T on the combo, too easy. No wonder I missed it. And even the next axel might have been a double. Just wow.

Barring some disaster, that is the new Japanese national champion. I love Miyahara, but the jumps aren't even close and Higuchi is really struggling right now. That was wonderful.

Came in here to rave about Kihara’s free skate. Outside of the technical (which was obviously amazing), the program itself was beautiful and I was impressed with the attention to detail in the choreography. I really hope she doesn’t break my heart with inconsistency!

Tursynbaeva

Eteri's adult skater. She looks much improved since leaving Orser. Jumps are stronger--well, at least at the beginning of the program :shuffle:--and she's more engaged with her program.
I am worried about Tursy’s health under Eteri to be honest. She is still so small and I imagine Eteri will encourage her to stay that way. I am hoping it is natural and not some kind of eating disorder. I know her dad is really thin and her mom is short, but still, she is 18 now.

I do think her skating looked stronger here for what it’s worth.

Also I like Stasia this season and never cared for her before. Maybe she can pull a Pogo and be the upset member of the worlds team again despite the meltdowns. Slay girl :gallopin1

Tursy already trained with Eteri, and she and her family chose to return....and she also has a Tiger-Mother... don't worry about Tursy... and if she has an eating disorder, she got it under Orser, given she's been with Eteri only 3 months...
