Chinese Skating News, Pt. 3: A long & winding road to Beijing 2022

We don't know the ins and outs of the operation. Chinese medical care is likely not as good as what you can have in the UK., true enough. I will say, currently not in China, I usually end up with overly strong medications--the opposite. One time I completely passed out from what I was given...

Chinese Skating News, Pt. 3: A long & winding road to Beijing 2022

She said oral meds don't help. Perhaps she tried and it didn't work. PErhaps the care isn't as awesome as what you have in U.K. There is no telling from the quick quotes.

She said she was really doped up during the operation and I guess it eventually wore off. Meds don't help

The article said she took med and it hurt again once the med wore off. Then the injection(s). Couldn't tell how long or how many injections as Chinese words don't indicate plural.

Chinese Skating News, Pt. 3: A long & winding road to Beijing 2022

There is a difference about pointing out a possibility and assuming a possibility as fact. I'm sure you know the difference. Personally, I feel like there is no point of reading beyond what is there. We don't know. ANd let's not pretend each person's interpretation isn't colored by their own...

Chinese Skating News, Pt. 3: A long & winding road to Beijing 2022

Many skaters, including Brian Boitano on top of my head, considered their Olympic chances when deciding to opt for surgery, or medical options, and Brian is not remotely Chinese.

Oh, is that what 拍板 means? That term doesn't exist in my part of the world. It's either a newer term or a term common to another part of CHina.

Chinese Skating News, Pt. 3: A long & winding road to Beijing 2022

I didn't assume the nationality of the said poster at all. I merely cited an example the said poster was familiar with. I knew I didn't know the nationality as I posted. But most posters are familiar enough with gun violence in America to know the reference even if they are not American. Or the...

Chinese Skating News, Pt. 3: A long & winding road to Beijing 2022

I actually don't care if the said poster is American; the point is the same. Take the word Chinese out of any broad strereotype and substitute Canadian government, Vietnamese community, black coaches, etc and see if it sounds right.

Chinese Skating News, Pt. 3: A long & winding road to Beijing 2022

I wonder how people feel if it is the other way round, and based on the shooting incidents they hear in the states, start assuming how everyone carries guns in the states. Or how every American coach teaches flutzing technique to their skaters.

    U.S. Men 2018-19 season (cont.) - news & updates

I think they both did a very good job to WSS, though I prefer Max's just for having no singing. I'm not sure why you think he is not comfortable with the program. His pcs is high. We don't know that his falls have to do with discomfort of the program. He could be uncomfortable with a different...

U.S. Ladies [#25]: Method in the Madness

Yeah, that seems to be the case with me too. Sometimes it's nice to have what I've typed, sometimes not. LOL

OTOH, I adore Camden's WSS and he got high pcs for it. Let's not forget, Max Aaron won nationals with WSS and placed high at worlds with it, and he is not exactly a "sophisticated" skater. :) I doubt that is jinxed music

U.S. Ladies [#25]: Method in the Madness

Even with the limited jgp opportunities this season, girls didn't need 3/3 and 3A to get picked for jgp. GIrls got picked were often the ones with the highest summer scores. (e.g. Izzo) Also, the novice boys that got picked for jgps previously were not landing more jumps than the jrs. Next year...

    U.S. Men 2018-19 season (cont.) - news & updates

Camden looked better two years ago? He was a jr with only a jgp in his belt, placing only 9th. Or do you mean Zhou?

U.S. Ladies [#25]: Method in the Madness

Japan gets two spots each because of a higher placement by the top Japanese lady (Yuna) there. By next season I suspect they will contend much better at the jr level.

U.S. Ladies [#25]: Method in the Madness

I think with the elimination of nationals for novice and below, and now with more jgp spots, talented novice and intermediate girls will be moving up wanting a shot at those jgp spots. eta: I am also guessing Cui will move up, and Hanna may do some sr Bs along with jgp. And Liu will be eliglble...

U.S. Ladies [#25]: Method in the Madness

I think the jr world training camp thing has been a pretty good thing. The last 2-3 jr worlds the performance of jr ladies has been fairly respectable.

ELIZAVETA KULIK WHAT'S SHE DOING NOW?

SHe was pretty disappointed by her skate. I remember her sitting next to her mom. Then again other skaters have bounced back the following year. Hopefully she will too!
