    Johari Window?

@Prancer, thanks so much for the insights - this is helpful. I had to go through a lot of these exercises back when I worked for a big corporation and found very few that provided insights worth the time. Your comments give me some thoughts about how to come at this with some other discussion...

    Johari Window?

Has anyone here used the Johari Window tool in any of their leadership training classes? Was it at all useful? I was asked to administer the tool to a small team of about 6-8 people (I only know one person on the team), but am not familiar with it and don't want this to become another useless...

    Dangers of a Trump Presidency--Part 7

I wonder what would have happened if the kids taunting the Native Americans were black, because the posturing in the video looks like gang behavior (at least how it is portrayed on tv - I don't typically interact with gangs). It will be interesting to see the result of the school's...

    Dangers of a Trump Presidency--Part 7

Not sure where to put this. I'm taking an OSHER class on Bitcoin (what it is, how it works, etc.) and block chains, and a side comment was made about Russia soon dumping reserves of US dollars and buying Bitcoin instead. It is one way to get around the US sanctions, given that Bitcoin does not...

    Dangers of a Trump Presidency--Part 7

I venture onto the Fox News website now and then to see how they are framing these same issues, and I am rarely able to get beyond the headlines. I know that I need to try harder to do that, but it is not easy to read stuff like: "Dems bungle the stupidest federal shutdown in US history".

Thanks for the response, @Vagabond. That is helpful.

    James Comey Fired

Sorry for a dumb question, but how can the section about Manafort's contact with Kilimnik be redacted in the first place? Isn't that the sort of information that was required to be divulged by the original warrant? All incriminating information can't really be redacted by the defense team, can it?

    Really, part deux

Warm wishes from Idaho, for a peaceful and happy Christmas and improved health in 2019. Your kindness, the health care staff's "never giving up" approach to care, and Lee's fighting spirit all remind us of the goodness in the world (that is often hidden by the headlines). Wish more of us could...

    Dangers of a Trump Presidency--Part 7

This is a short article in Psychology a Today describing Narcissistic Personality Disorder. It was written in 2017, so I apologize if it was posted before. Every paragraph reminded me of our commander in chief. Worth reading if you have the time and interest...

    Dangers of a Trump Presidency--Part 7

I think it is a bad precedent to give too-lenient sentencings to people who lie to federal agents. There would not be enough incentive for people to be truthful from the start. I understand the need to negotiate a lighter sentence when one assists with an investigation, but it shouldn't be...

    The Bad News Thread

I'm so very sorry for your loss. What a terrible thing to happen to a young person. You and your family have my sympathy.

Countdown to Earth Day - Environmental Issues

I've been taking an OSHER class on global climate change, and in yesterday's class, there was a glimmer of hope provided. Self driving electric cars, where people no longer own their vehicles, but instead pay into ride services(~$100/month) -- this new transportation paradigm is supposedly...

    Dangers of a Trump Presidency--Part 7

Anyone else think that Trump looks a bit ill these days? To me, he looks heavier, puffy in the face, very tired, and something seems off in his eyes. It might be a cold/flu/virus kind of thing, although I doubt anyone would admit it. It could also be that he has not slept much after the mid term...

    2018 U.S. Elections - Midterms & More

Idaho voted to expand Medicaid (not surprisingly, because that was not a huge partisan issue). And they stopped a proposal to allow "betting on historic horse racing" (slot machines with a picture of a horse on the top of the machine). The ads for horse racing were incessant - casinos dumped a...

Countdown to Earth Day - Environmental Issues

I think you hit the nail on the head. Greed andour inability to look beyond and plan beyond a year or two is going to be the downfall of our species. The "me" culture (as opposed to a "we" culture) is dominate in our world leaders, especially in the USA.

    Dangers of a Trump Presidency--Part 7

As the planet warms & the population increases, seas continue to rise and resources like water and food become bigger issues, I expect that mass migration will be a much bigger issue globally. Today's immigration issues will pale in comparison to what future generations will see. Sorry to be so...

    Gun violence (Again!)

Not sure if anyone is interested, but the Steel City company is selling a t-shirt with all proceeds going to the Tree of Life Synagogue in Pittsburgh. The logo is a broken heart, with the "breaks" being the 3 rivers that meet downtown. There is also a Star of David in the heart...
