IMO, Ping deserved as much as Pamela to go home on account of a too-short burlap dress, but botched her second chance. In fairness, I thought her teammate was too belligerent and so keen to preserve his safety on the show that he made no attempt to be a team player in the workroom. Both he and one of the models rather threw Ping under the bus, if I may be so lazy. Posters in the OTBT thread are divided about whether his behavior was wholly justified.
The third episode was tonight, the first team challenge, which involved the largest budget--$550--to make a signature look and a cheaper one based on the work of another team. The second episode involved creating a cocktail dress from a potato sack, while the first was the tell-us-about-yourself initial challenge the series has done once or twice before. The first winner was Emilio, a fortysomething professional and (IMO) the class of the field. The second was Jay, who made a dress that wasn't recognizably burlap, and the latest was Mila, who created a long sportswear inspired jacket that the judges loved. The first to be eliminated with Christiane, who couldn't sew, followed by Pamela, whose construction skills and dyework were good, but who made her model look like a hooker. My early favorite, Ping, who showed such promise in the first episode, went home this time after showing poor judgment and sewing skills.
Wouldn't it be funny if someone put concentrated mineral oil in Plushy's food causing him to shit brown diarrhea all over the ice during his sit spin? (I think yes)
