In Memoriam

Pauline Collins first came to prominence playing the maid Sarah in Upstairs Downstairs. If ever there were a role and an actress that redefined playing the maid, Sarah was that role, and Pauline Collins was that actress.

RIP Pauline Collins, star of “Shirley Valentine”. A film I will always stop and watch when I’m around and it pops up on TV.

Same! So many memorable lines and scenes. :)

On our honeymoon to Mykonos we stayed close to the beach where the scenes in Greece were filmed to pay homage.

RIP

Sally Kirkland, Veteran Actress and Oscar Nominee, Dies at 84

I used to see her at the silver spoon restaurant in West Hollywood when I first move there.

I remember she also played Johnny Galecki‘s mom on the original Roseanne series. She played the mom of David and Mark.

The famous German entertainers Alice and Ellen Kessler, known as the "Kessler Twins" passed away yesterday at their home near Munich at the age of 89.

Apparently it was some sort of "assisted suicide" and they had chosen their date of death together beforehand.

They entered the world together and wanted to leave it together.

Sad to hear about Jimmy Cliff's death. I liked his music a lot, particularly his iconic songs like You Can Get It If You Really Want or Many Rivers to Cross

One of the greats.

I'm not sure exactly how old he was, as an obituary has not come out, but one of my favorite people passed away about a month ago. Sonny Tripp was one of those people who really took care of his community. He was a really special coach, and a dedicated education advocate for Native students in the K-12 school system up here.

He came from a family of cultural leaders. He took care of his uncle Brian, a well-known artist, singer, poet, and dance leader, the last 3 years of his life. Actually, it was more like he made it possible for his uncle to have a big victory lap during those three years.
