Looks like there will be an outdoor farmers' market at Lansdowne on Sunday, for those who want to eat outdoors. Let's hope they expand it exceptionally to Saturday given the big event there. Ottawa Farmers' Market
If it's allowed to operate at that point. I love farmer markets though.Looks like there will be an outdoor farmers' market at Lansdowne on Sunday, for those who want to eat outdoors. Let's hope they expand it exceptionally to Saturday given the big event there. Ottawa Farmers' Market
Hope so! It is outdoors, so there’s a good chance they’ll keep it open. Also would be a great opportunity for local businesses. If it's allowed to operate at that point. I love farmer markets though.
That cancellation was due to the number of + cases among the participants/teams.Not sure if it this sets a precedence, but the Olympic mixed Doubles curling trials originally scheduled for this week in Portage la Prairie, MB was cancelled, and the Olympic team selection will come down to committee.
Well the speed skating is still taking place in Quebec and that’s basically locked down so my guess is nationals is still happening as long as ICU admissions stay low Also unlike last year all the athletes are all still training. Not that I would be shocked if they decided to go without an audience but again unless public health guidelines change?
You are referring to case numbers for the province of Ontario, not the Ottawa area.Over 10,000 cases in one day? I'm wondering why anyone wants to attend this event at all, disappointing as that maybe. This is crazy.

As being debated in the U.S. Nationals in Nashville thread. But, good lord, is it really worth the chance of contacting this ***** to watch a skating competition?
Rather minimalist, unfortunatelyAs being debated in the U.S. Nationals in Nashville thread.
BTW, I just posted the CBC TV & streaming schedule in the TV Alerts forum: https://www.fsuniverse.net/forum/th...dcast-streaming-schedule.108620/#post-6143526
In Ottawa we were in the +80% vaccinated range to begin with and there has been an overwhelming demand for boosters.I know that. But, good lord, is it really worth the chance of contacting this ***** to watch a skating competition? In BC, we're nowhere near that number and I wouldn't even attend a one night hockey game. It's just not making sense to me. Maybe I 'm alone here.
Thank you - I wasn't thinking. The above is regard to this this:
2022 World Junior Hockey Championships
The event started on Sunday in Edmonton, and Red Deer, Alberta. Yesterday the US team had to forfeit a game due to positive tests on the team, and today more positives on other teams and the event has now been cancelled...www.fsuniverse.net
Just announced that the reminder of the event is canceled. The above is regard to this new thread in Other Sports about the World Junior Hockey Championships (underway in Red Deer, Alberta) reportedly being canceled today: https://www.fsuniverse.net/forum/threads/2022-world-junior-hockey-championships.109161/
Organizing a virtual event on this tight a timeline would seem very unlikely.I do hope that in the event of outright cancellation that someone at SC is willing to at least try to do something virtually this year.
Ontario has yet to make a press conference statement about school opening next week (100% guaranteed it will not be re-opening and back to online). Hopefully tomorrow they are ready.I hate that we are guessing.......why can't they just make an announcment one way or the other?
Don't be so sure. I'm an Ontario teacher and our government is, frankly, stupid - most rumours that we have been hearing from the school boards and teachers' unions so far are pointing towards in-school learning continuing.Ontario has yet to make a press conference statement about school opening next week (100% guaranteed it will not be re-opening and back to online).
Nova Scotia says we are going back in person and Omicron is raging out of control here.Don't be so sure. Are you in Ottawa ... I can't remember.Don't be so sure. I'm an Ontario teacher and our government is, frankly, stupid - most rumours that we have been hearing from the school boards and teachers' unions so far are pointing towards in-school learning continuing.
