We watched “Fighting with my Family” last night. So funny.

It is the life story of Paige, the youngest Diva Wrestling Champion in history.

The movie is based on the documentary of her life and produced by The Rock, Dwayne Johnson who also has a cameo in the movie.

Paige grew up in a wrestling family in Norwich, UK and didn’t quite fit the mold of a female entertainment wrestler but she succeeds against the odds.

Her family is fantastic also.

Interview with Mark Millar the creative mind behind Civil War and Jupiter’s Legacy. Jupiter’s Legacy dropped yesterday on Netflix.

 We need to make offshoot threads, like “All Marvel Shows” and “Stick with Schitt’s Creek, it gets better.”
I tried, and it got more boring!

I just watched S1 of Shrill on Hulu. It was a huuuuge deal here when the real-life event in the season finale played out between Lindy West and Dan Savage in The Stranger.

Aidy Bryant is great, Lolly Adefope as Fran is great - need more of her!

I also watched Three Perfect Strangers earlier this week. A friend and I discussed it in detail when the film came out, and even though I knew all of the major parts of the story, it was still bonkers watching everything unfold. There was a follow up short about two women who learned they were twins after this was released. Their initial meeting was filmed, I didn't watch all of it because it felt too sensational to watch that incredibly personal moment.

We just finished watching Superstore and are looking for a new many seasons sitcom on Netflix.

ANy suggestions appreciated. We have watched The Good Place and The Office already, tried Parks and Rec and Schitt's Creek but didn't take to it. I'm thinking of trying Community or Jane the Virgin.
Parks and Rec had a disastrous first season and doesn’t find its real voice until the end of Season 2. From there on out, particularly Seasons 3-4, it’s fantastic. You could literally skip Season 1 and be at no lost context wise.

Highly recommend Community; although Dan Harmon as an auteur isn’t for everyone. If you enjoyed The Office and The Good Place, you might like Brooklyn 99.

I have to say that as grim as “Mare of Easttown” can be it also has some warm, laugh out loud moments. And today’s episode also had one of the “HOLY S***!” moments. I am really enjoying this series.
It’s killing it with the cliffhangers! I was hoping it would be 8 episodes but looks like it’s only 7.

I had to watch the trailer and the SNL spoof for the Delco accent. I don't think I could watch the show because I'd be too distracted thinking about my hometown accent (which no one in my immediate family has but my SIL does).

That SNL spoof was a hoot!

Just finished the Korean series Navillera and my husband and I both have tears in our eyes. Such a beautifully done show that brings out all the emotions. The show grows gradually as you get to know the characters. It takes a while for them all to grow on you but as you get closer to the the end, they are all so important.

Wanted to add that there is an aspect to the plot of this show that isn't obvious from the reviews or the first half of the episodes. It came as a surprise to me so I don't want to mention it, but I think it was handled very well.

A surprise renewal for Seasons 2 and 3 for Sanditon! Fortunately, it won't be British ITV that will be producing this as there would have been a lag between the time it appears in Great Britain and the US. PBS is the producing entity which suggests less of a lag. Unfortunately, Theo James will not be returning to the series.

Theo James was the only reason I watched. 🙁

We plan to start watching the series this weekend. My daughter and her roomies who live in the area are loving the SNL skit. The WaWa stuff cracks me up and I know so many people who live in HOEkessin.

"The Underground Railroad" on Prime is getting great reviews. I haven't watched it yet.
I am so conflicted, as I don't want to give eville Amazon any $ or attention, but really want to see this.

Watched Girls5Eva on Peacock and it was cute. Occasionally laugh out loud funny. If you liked Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt, you'll like this show as it's created by the same people. The cameo from Tina Fey as Dolly Parton nearly killed me.

I really want to watch this! It’s not easy to watch in Canada unless you have cable and the W network

Girls5eva will be on The W Network in June. The Peacock shows air weekly in Canada, but they show two episodes in one night. I have seen the Saved By the Bell (loved it!) and Punky Brewster (cute). Looking forward to this!

A dreary day out: I watched “I Am ALL GIRLS” and was riveted. I wondered throughout: How far would I go? Good way to spend a couple of hours on a very rainy day...

I watched The Night Clerk on Netflix. Ana de Armas (Kinves Out), Tye Sheridan and John Leguizamo are great actors that make a bad script better than it should be. Tye had to have studied or known high functioning Asperger's before this role because he kept up the performance throughout the whole thing. Kind of reminds me of how great Leonardo DiCaprio pulled off his mentally impaired role in What's Eating Gilbert Grape.

I almost didn't recognize Helen Hunt at all. She felt kind of useless. So was the story. It didn't know what it was supposed to be so was nothing. Murder mystery? Nope, because it was obvious. Drama, love story? Maybe. So just meh. I think if you are studying how to act like someone with Asperger's it's a great film to study. Otherwise it is a complete waste of time and is mostly just boring.
