Ok, Do hard list (just so da boss @Jeschke won’t pair me up with some random people in the audience in the future) :drama:
1) And you think think this will stop me now?
2) Subtle sign you won't be satisfied with the plebs from the stands? So I team you up with the elite from the ice, no problem.
3) Random people? Random? He had a LTU jacket! I was never that close getting Saulius' phone number :drama:

I think Mozgov is hot too :gallopin1 I wish he and Bettina hadn't had so many health problems and could have done less quirky programs next year, I loved how quirky they were personally but judging from some of her statements lately I think she felt sort of pigeonholed and like they weren't being taken seriously, which makes me sad. She's a bit emo but so am I so I sympathize.

1. Berezhnaya/Sikharulidze 'Lady Caliph', 2002 SP

My favorite of anything ever. :swoon:

3. Drobiazko/Vanagas 'Phantom of the Opera', 2006, FD

POTO is unforgivable for any reason. The height of my D/V uberdoom was 1999:

Only guys making @Mad for Skating 's list are Brown and Cizeron :respec::rofl:
This is too good.

Bob! I approve :respec:

LOL, I’m picky when it comes to my boys. Be glad; I’m leaving more for the rest of you!
With Brown, there’s a bit of nostalgia for me because he was my first skating crush. I had a thing for medieval princes and he had a Tristan and Iseult free skate that year.
Cizeron - I think this speaks for itself:

Eric Radford is also exceptionally gorgeous, but I can’t help seeing him as a cool gay uncle now that he’s married :)

I’d actually argue that Queen Bobrova is one of the hottest, most underrated women in figure skating.

Conclusion: My taste in guys is as tragic as my taste in skating :D

Actually, I was expecting a much more cringeworthy list! Bravo, Bossman, you’ve got taste!

Making lists is too much effort for me right now.

My main thought is I will be gravely disappointed if Tuktamysheva doesn't give us a Dua Lipa exhibition next season. That would be all I can contribute at the moment. :drama:

Amen! I could see her killing it to “Don’t Start Now”!

Glad to see Tarasova's cover-up dress being honored. :respec:

Only TTW would choose the coverup over the gorgeous black dress she had later in the season 😂

Fave costumes of the season:

Men (not in order)
  • Shoma Uno SP (first one with the multicoloured shirt, but I liked the maroon and blue too)
  • Shoma Uno FS (black version with silver stones)
  • Boyang Jin FS
  • Egor Rukhin SP (x)
  • Ilya Kovler FS (x)

I'm not going to put Matteo's mustard sweater on the list, but he did look good in it. Not a lot of standout costumes this season.

Pairs
1. Moore-Tower/Marinaro SP
2. Knierim/Knierim FS
3. Tarasova/Morozov FS (original)
4. Moore-Towers/Marino FS (the magenta dress, although the light pink one was pretty too)
5. Pavliuchenko/Khodykin FS (just for her bodysuit)

I liked Alexa's SP dress, but not so much Chris K's suit. Kirsten really carries MT/M costume wise, but that SP dress is stunning and I love the colour of the FS dress, so I don't care.

Ladies
1. Eunsoo Lim FS
2. Ekaterina Kurakova FS
3. Evgenia Medvedeva FS
4. Hongyi Chen FS (x)
5. Marin Honda FS
6. Lucrezia Beccari FS (x)
7. Gracie Gold SP (Nationals)
8. Alena Kostornaya SP
9. Seoyeong Wi SP
10. Alena Kostornaya FS
11. Ekaterina Kurakova FS
12. Eunsoo Lim SP (the Spanish one)
13. Kaori Sakamoto FS
14. Satoko Miyahara SP (just for the collar)

Best set of costumes: Eunsoo Lim, Ekaterina Kurakova

Dance
1. Gilles/Poirier FD (merlot/red version - he was fine, I love her dress)
2. Papadakis/Cizeron RD (I liked both versions)
3. Wang/Liu FD (her dress is so beautiful)
4. Chock/Bates FD
5. Fear/Gibson FD
6. Stepanova/Bukin RD (after they toned down her skirt - Bukin really rocks the coat and tails look)
7. Fournier Beaudry/Sorensen RD
8. Wang/Liu RD
9. Bronsard/Bouaraguia FD (x)
10. Bashynska/Beaumont FD (x)
11. Gilles/Poirier RD
12. Galyavieva/Thauron RD (the first one)
13. Popova/Mozgov RD

I didn't include Lajoie/Lagha's RD (version 2) because her look made no sense for WSS, but I'd love to have the little black dress. Very chic.

All time lists

So I before I give my all time lists, I first discovered skating with Tessa and Scott at the Vancouver Olympics essentially. And I watched a bit of other dance teams but mostly just them and a little Patrick Chan up until 2014. I only really became a skating fan and started watching all the competitions and non-Canadian teams in 2016. So my lists are very modern. And probably not that long.

I hadn't gone and watched very much from before I got into skating (some ice dance, and a few programs here and there for other disciplines). All the watch parties have got me watching lots of earlier teams, but I've only gone back to 2006 (I was inspired by the 2010 rewatches, so I watched earlier stuff for teams that were there), I've only done pairs and dance, and I'm not done all the teams I want to watch even just in that time frame... so, yeah. Pretty recent list.

And also, a big part of getting invested for me is following along, watching the competitions, etc. So I wouldn't really count any team I didn't watch at the time as a fave, but some I've really enjoyed their skating and programs so I'll mention them.

Anyways, to the lists (may be kind of Canadian heavy, since the Olympics, patriotic stuff is what originally got me interested and also I've seen more of them live at summer comps and stuff):

Dance
1. Virtue/Moir
2. Lajoie/Lagha
3. Gilles/Poirier
4. Hubbell/Donohue
5. Weaver/Poje
6. Papadakis/Cizeron
7. Davis/White

Current favourites that I'm not ready to add to all-time: Chock/Bates, Green/Parsons (I was a fan of the Parsons before they split too), Fournier Beaudry/Sorensen, D'Alessandro/Waddell, Bashynska/Beaumont

From watching back, I think I would have been a big fan of Samuelson/Bates if I'd watched then (though the only program I loved was the country OD), the Kerr's were awesome, and I very much liked Delobel/Schoenfelder's The Piano FD and Belbin/Agosto's WSS.

I didn't like D/W at the time because of the rivalry, and like I said I was more of a V/M fan than a skating fan (and I wasn't following that closely even then), but I did enjoy a lot of their stuff watching back recently. Well actually, I don't think I disliked them in Vancouver, but back then I didn't even know what ice dancing was and I really don't remember much of what I thought besides that I really loved what V/M did, that the aboriginal OD was awful and that Tessa's white dress was gorgeous and B/A who skated the FD right after looked ridiculous.

I've definitely been able to like the French more since V/M retired as well. I always saw the skill, but I like them more now. I think combo of the rivalry not being there anymore and also just them improving.

Pairs
1. Savchenko/Massot
2. Duhamel/Radford
3. Mishina/Galiamov
4. Sui/Han
5. Walsh/Michaud

Current favs that I'm not ready to add: Moore-Towers/Marinaro, Panfilova/Rylov, Pepeleva/Pleshkov

Pairs was the last discipline I got into, so it's pretty short. For Sui/Han, I'm not that invested in their results like a true fan, but I really enjoy watching them and they're so good. I could maybe add Seguin/Bilodeau because they were probably my favourite Canadian time for a bit there.

I'm still in the middle of watching all Savchenko/Szolkowy's programs, but I love them. So many good ones (and I'm only up to 2010). I haven't gone through multiple years/programs for many others, but just watching the Vancouver events, I really liked Pang/Tong, Shen/Zhao, Kavaguti/Smirnov and Mukhortova/Trankov's SP.

I'll do a proper 2014 and earlier faves list for all disciplines when I finish watching more, but that'll probably take a while (don't have a lot else to do for now, so it'll happen).

How quickly one forgets. I remember John Kerr being voted the porniest something or other, and now not a single mention on do-hard lists. Lambiel almost (but not quite) forgotten.
