Will never work either. The technical panels are not the same between events and therefore, as we are told, you can’t compare scores. It also goes back to the event taking too much time. A top 12 would be three warm-up groups in both pairs and dance, meaning an ice resurfacing each time, and the event would take more days to complete.

2 Groups though?, top 10 singles (don't want to overshadow Worlds), plus 8/10 Dance, 8 Pairs, would that be doable?

Until the 2009/10 season for the Junior Grand Prix Series Final, there were eight singles, pairs and dance teams in each category. Granted, there used to be eight Junior Grand Prix Series Events, though.

Since the 2009/10 season when the junior and senior finals were held at the same venue, the junior finals fields were reduced to six in each category.
