If the intent of the thread is music that has been used before, then here are my suggestions in any order

-Tristan and Isolde (Brown, Sale/Pelletier)
-the Saint Saens long that Abbott used in 2009-2010. I wanted this for Conrad Orzel this year. Thought it would match his style
-Kozuka's long to the Concerto for Guitar in 2009-2010. Why no one has grabbed this again is beyond me. He didn't do enough with it
-Take my Hand by Dido I have only seen used by Sato in the pros. I would give this to Gabby for her short. Silky, sexy power!

The same season V&M skated to GGITS/Money Delobel&Schoenfelder skated to GGITS. I believe it was the year they won worlds, and deservedly so.

It was the same season where Delobel/Schoenfelder were undefeated from their first GP event to the GPF and were hoping to win Euros and defend their World title, but Delobel suffered a shoulder injury during the GPF gala and needed surgery, forcing them to miss the remainder of the season. Then she got pregnant and we know what happened to the Olympic season. D/S never faced Virtue/Moir that season but it would have been interesting to see the contrast.

The best we can do is just watch D/S's GPF FD and V/M's Worlds FD:

D/S:

https://youtu.be/bILl9Xd5LoQ

The first D/S link has better video quality but the first minute or so of the music is muted. The second link has the music in full.

Has anyone used the first part of Bach's Cello Suite No. 1 in G Major (the prelude)? It's so beautiful and not too fast.
I have seen this used and even as a cello player I do not think it is suitable for a skating program. There is not enough light and shade in it and no real nuances that a skater can latch on to. Also the timing is very flexible as it is very much up to how the musician plays it and their interpretation. They played this at an ISU seminar to discuss about music choice and I spoke about it.

This is a piece of music that I think would be fantastic for a short program or a synchro team - Sofi Tukker - Awoo

Not a suggestion, but I just noticed how this song is going to be used by three different pairs teams this season for their sps. :drama:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NJ62S3A9wn0 Never Tear Us Apart by INXS

The first team I heard were using it is Pfund/Santillan of the U.S. Is it a coincidence that two additional pairs picked up the same song by a different cover artist?

(Italians D-M/G and Aussie team A/W are using the Joe Cocker version):
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9STrHIUSumQ

The Joe Cocker version sounds a bit more rousing. It's gonna be fun comparing the choreo and interpretations by each team. A/W are choreographed by Julie Marcotte; D-M/G by Raffaella Cazzaniga and John Kerr. Anyone know who is Cazzaniga?

Pfund/Santillan's sp is being choreographed by Ilona Melnichenko. (Thanks @clairecloutier and @Sylvia for the new programs spread sheet). :cheer2:

Certainly, the song is perfect for pairs! It's a vote against musical chairs! I don't recall it ever being used before in skating, which doesn't mean it hasn't.

Thanks to a notification in my email regarding someone that wrote a comment about a video I had uploaded on YouTube, I went to check it out. I'm so glad I did because I hadn't watched it in a long time.

The person that wrote the comment had been searching for this particular rendition of Summertime and it was her second favorite. From the 1995 Fox Rock n Roll championships:

Re-posting here for @Michalle :):
I looked all over for the music suggestion thread but couldn't find it! I just came across Liebeslied, composed and played by the violinist Fritz Kreisler https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jniNETA36Us and feel like it would be perfect for a Russian pair... it's even right about the right length for a free program, I think (maybe a bit short). Plus it was just in a famous anime according to 50% of the comments on the video, so it has a built-in fanbase. I guess it's a bit late for this season though!

I've decided that I want a dance team (or pairs - I'm not fussy) to skate to the 80s power ballad "Nothing's Gonna Stop Us Now" by Starship (hilariously nominated for an original song Oscar for the movie Mannequin). I could see a quirky team like Gilles/Poirier being up for the challenge.
Actually, it would be neat to see a year where everyone is required to skate to an Oscar nominated song.

^^^^^^^^ that's so weird you mention this. Just yesterday I was in a cafƩ in Barcelona and on their TV they were playing that song and video with Kim Cattrall. I have not seen it since the 80s

I sure wish we still had some of the pro shows like Fox Rock n Roll or Improv-ice. I always loved Scott and Kurt performing. I don't remember and I did search to find out if any skater ever performed to a song by Ray Stevens and the "Hen House Five plus 2". It would have been great for an exhibition, and someone like Scott would have been perfect to skate to the music. I also believe that Philippe Candeloro would have been perfect to skate to the music.

I had seen a skit by Carol Burnett, Vicki Lawrence, Tim Conway and Harvey Korman using the song, and it was hilarious. I managed to find it on YouTube.

Carol Burnett - In the Mood

Now I could be wrong about it. If anyone remembers one of the skaters performing to In the Mood, please share!

Thanks for your help on this @paskatefan. I had remembered Scott performing to In the Mood at the 1994 Gold Championships - Scott Hamilton - In the Mood after you reminded me.

What I loved was seeing Scott, Kurt and Philippe skating to all the humorous songs because they were always (and still are) so talented.

I had hoped through the years that one of them would have skated to the version by Ray Stevens and his Henhouse Five Plus Too because the song was so hilarious. Anyway, I know it would have worked out for Scott, Kurt or Philippe.

I forgot about the B side of the record by The Henhouse Five Plus Too (Ray Stevens). I believe this song would have worked, too, as a humorous exhibition.

Random thought of the night...I want nothing more than for a ladies skater to skate to Kate Bush's "Wurthering Heights". Since she does have a really distinct higher register, the original may not be the most skating friendly, so I'd accept a cover but nothing that sounds like a coffee shop compilation or a knock-off of a 50 Shades of Grey track.

Oh no. No covers. If you're going Kate Bush you need to go full Kate Bush, 80s hair, trailing sleeves, waving arms and all!

Dear Evan Hansen- You Will Be Found or, For Forever

I'm clutching to the lovely mental image of Jason skating to "Found/Tonight". I would not be the only one blubbering and I know that for a fact.

As for Max...*drags him out of retirement and throws the entire MCU soundtrack at him* Go nuts buddy but extra points if you do Star Spangled Man seriously.

Funny you would say that because I literally just finished reading Wuthering Heights last week!
