1. Neither. IMHO (and being raised in the South), the Confederacy primarily symbolizes treason against the U.S. For that reason alone, it is completely inappropriate for there to be Confederate symbols/monuments on public property. I'm fine with someone purchasing them and keeping them on private property like a museum.

2. No

1) No - or at least not any worse than All in the Family was. But I think 80% of appeal of a show like All in the Family was that was that most White Americans had a dad/uncle/grandpa/etc that was like Archie Bunker - a good guy that made you :shuffle: when he started talking about certain topics. I think a lot of people identified with the humor that showed.

2) No - or at least let the ratings take care of it. After all, TV channels really care about how much $$$ they can get from advertising.

Pizza! :D What kind do you want?

Thin crust
or
Thick crust
or
Deep dish

Buy a lotto ticket and hope for the best! :hat1:

You buy the lotto ticket and lose :violin::wuzrobbed. However, you find a wallet on the pavement containing $1000, and it contains no details as to who the money and the wallet belong to. What do you do?

Keep it, buy food for yourself and the :cat:, and save the rest for the future

Hand it in to the police

Buy another lotto ticket in the hope that you can win enough for yourself and the :cat:, and then hand the wallet (containing $1000) over to the police

NAY - but that's because I distaste Snapchat.
Gymnastics (because the women's finals at U.S. starts in 5 mins and I'm :watch:): Will we ever have another repeat women's All-Around Olympic Champion? The last woman to do it was Věra Čáslavská (Czechoslovakia) in 1964 & 1968.

YES - Of course! GO SIMONE GO!
or
YES - But it would have to be someone that wins the first AA title at no older than 16.
or
NO - It's clearly too hard now to be a dominate AAer for that long.

1. If they put the art back into artistic gymnastics, then yes. If not, and the emphasis remains on acrobatics, then no. The injuries will start to catch up and as time goes by, it becomes more difficult physically to keep up with the younger gymnasts.

2. Chariots of Fire

Has the decline in the popularity of gymnastics outside of the USA reached a tipping point beyond which the sport cannot recover - Yes or No?

YES - of course! GO SIMONE GO!

I think Simone could do it, if she was 16 or 17 in Rio. She was 19 in Rio and will be 23 if she competes in Tokyo. I know she was awesome, but I wouldn't bet on her staying at that level - much less getting better.

Fat chance. The "artistic" stuff doesn't get a score like in figure skating. The "components" in gymnastics skills almost don't even matter anymore, either.
--------------------------

Should they go ahead and take out the music in women's gymnastics floor routines?

YES - The "choreography" doesn't get a score, anyway. And lot of this music is some of the worse stuff ever. Seriously - how go they find music cuts this bad in around 1:30 time? Besides, why should the women be made to be "artistic" when the men don't have to? (I will admit that I was on some sort of rant here.)
or
NO - In fact, make the men have music too. You don't think some of those guys wouldn't want to tumble to some slick track?
