Watching the diving* and the whole Chinese team have "FOR WORLD CHAMPIONSHIPS" written on their team t-shirts.

*By "diving" I mean the men's diving. :p

Congrats to Tom Daley for winning the 10m world title. Glad to see him rebound from the disappointment of Rio :cheer:

I'm watching the men's 10m finals now so I guess I know who won. LOL This event makes me so nervous because of how close to the platform they seem to dive.

Watching the start of the swimming finals - and Katie Ledecky has just smoked the field in the women's 400m free. She is just awesome!!

All Becky Adlington would say was thank goodness Efimova didn't break the world record :DThat is going to be an intense final tomorrow night!!

Anyway Adam Peaty once again dominates his 100m breaststroke final - finishing a second ahead of the guy in 2nd :cheer2:

Is it too awful of me to say, out of American pride, that I want Lilly to lose? I am usually :cheer: when an American wins a medal, but I felt that her attitude in Rio was really immature and unprofessional. Just swim and win the race. That would have spoken more than enough if she felt that Efimova has no business competing there.

Speaking of the American women, does anyone else think it's a huge mistake that Ledecky hasn't gone pro? There's no guarantee that she won't get injured and miss out on more $$$ like Missy Franklin did.

Ledecky is a student in univesity, right? How can a swimmer go pro?

Short answer: Ledecky gets an agent and starts taking sponsorships/endorsements. She will then lose her NCAA eligibility. But I can't see her not getting at least a pretty awesome Speedo deal. Wasn't Ryan Lochte getting $750,000/year as a base from Speedo? He has since gotten an endorsement deal with TYR, but I would guess it probably isn't as big.

Efimova had an awful start in that 100m breaststroke and Lilly King won in a new WR time - with Katie Meili getting silver - Efimova in 3rd and she was pissed!! King refusing to shake Efimova's hand though - not very sporting there - you've won and got a WR so grow up!!

You didn't watch it wrong. I do understand to some degree the issues with some one who has taken drugs and is now back. But for goodness sake. You just beat her - be the bigger person(people).

Kylie Masse of Canada broke it to win the 100m Backstroke in 58.10, Kathleen Baker won the silver for the americans and defending world champion Emily Seebhom the bronze

Lilly King was a beast in the final, broke the world record and beat Efimova (I think she wanted that the most) the russian was tired coming down the wall and was out touched by Katie Meili who took the silver medal.

Yes, the americans didnt acknowledge Efimova nor congratutale her, I think I saw King slightly moved her face towards lane 4 (where Yulia swam) so maybe she said something like 'thank you' to whatever Efimova said

China won the Men's 200m Freestyle with Sun Yang and the Men's 100m Backstroke where the chinese guy beat the americans, Grevers 2nd and Olympic Champion Ryan Murphy 3rd, kind of a shock for them but chinese looked very strong in the semis

I don't care about that Russian doper Efimova. You got caught TWICE. You have no right to swim again. That should apply to every doper in every sport. And yes like Gaitlin.

Nice try? Why? Simone used drogs in her whole life. Can you imagine how big advantage is that? It's unfair to compete with others.

Americans who doped should be banned. "US athletes have everything and probably they use such drogs what are unnoticed today." This is a very common opinion.

But don't get me wrong I admire the great athletes form US!!! I just don't like the hypocrisy as I said

Biles didn't used drugs for advantage. It's for her health. She declared it through Anti Doping Agency. You can actually declare that. What about Efimova? She used it because she wanted to win. She concealed it. And then got caught TWICE.

So nice try.

Russians are the biggest cheats on the planet. They cheat on drugs. They cheat with judges. They have a nation supported it. FACT.
