They will represent Russia in ladies field.
May be I will start watching Youth Olympics.
Ooo this should be interesting, they get to go after 2 Olympic golds, Senior and Junior... I might just start watch it too!
^Could be VERY interesting, definitely going to be watching.
Will the Youth Olympics be on TV?
Where was this announced?
some article...Rus federation of FS has announced it
Gracie Gold too will go to Youth Olympics??
Yay, I am going to see them live in my hometown. How exciting to see them compete against each other
And in men´s competition? I hope it´s not Plushy.
No, she's too old. The USA lady hasn't been officially announced yet and YOG takes place the week before US Nationals -- see the Youth Olympics thread in GSD (or Kiss and Cry if you have access) for all the known competitors so far: http://www.fsuniverse.net/forum/showthread.php?t=78858
That poor girl, I hope "Sot" doesn't become her regular nickname!
This is a good idea as neither has competed as juniors this year. Should be exciting!
I am not at all familiar with Youth Olympics. Which skaters have competed in the past in the YOG?
No "past" This is the first Winter YOG
Jordan Bauth's Icenetwork bio states that she will be competing
Thanks for info!
YaY. hope this is true
any article link source ??
It wil be interesting will Adelina hold on to her junior gold streak and beat Liza again or will Liza finally beat Adelina, hopefully the GP has also add them enough lessons and experience.
Go Tuk Tuk and Sotnikova
btw, isn't Gracie Gold too Old
like 17 and she wil be seniors by next year ?
well the US too has plenty of young talented skaters at national levels
that should be given a chance to compete. YOG could be their breakthrough
what about Julia lipnitskaya ?
Article link/source is posted in the YOG thread in Great Skate Debate (Russia has 2 ladies entries): http://www.fsuniverse.net/forum/showpost.php?p=3404845&postcount=135
Will Tuktamysheva and Sotnikova be competing in the 2012 junior worlds as well given that they are ineligible to compete in the 2012 senior worlds?
Yes, I think so
now with also Julia Lipnitskaya possibly competing at Jr. Worlds
will be interesting to watch a trio battle for Golds
Bauth finished 5th at Easterns this season. This is the best we can send to compete against other top Junior Ladies at YOG's? This suggests to me that U.S. Figure Skating might not consider this first-ever IOC event of any great significance.
What a crock!
USA and Canada have conflicts with their nationals. National skaters are trying to qualify for junior worlds and envelope funding. YOG is not of high prominence yet. (Not to mention the age range is really narrow. Very few athletes meet the requirements)
I guess they're gonna be meeting familiar faces then Stephane and Yuna! I hope they could have yet another motivation and inspiration from this event! Best of luck girls.
