I'll be at the Victoria show too - hope we get a guest skater
That's just what I had been hoping for!
Halifax Chronicle Herald article:
If anyone is able to attend the Hamilton show on May 3rd, groupon is offering tickets and ticket packages for as little as $15. There are also packages for $35 (which includes a signed poster of Joannie Rochette) and $75 (which includes the poster and access to the pre-show warm-up. I believe these prices include extra fees, but I don't know for sure.
Thanks for the heads up. For the Winnipeg show it says the poster is signed by Kurt Browning. Just a note for anyone interested, the higher the ticket price the better the seat choice as well.
Thanks, Skate Talker. I just posted this info in the V&M thread. I wish they'd had this deal for the Toronto show!
Did nobody go see the Halifax show? Would love a review/report if anyone went!
yes please ! some report would be nice !
That was a cool interview with Kurt. He has two sons? ETA: Okay, yes, I see from the posted article that he and his wife have two sons.
Nice feature w/ Kurt and his family:
Has Kurt taken on more of the organizing/ choreo for the SOI U.S. shows as well?
Some very positive comments, particularly about the group numbers were posted on the Kurt Facebook page.
Videos from Halifax thanks to a nice person!

Thanks for posting. Lucky all those able to see the performances live.
BTW, is Shawn Sawyer sporting a modified mohawk? He showed off some great moves.
The US show and the Canadian show are essentially the same, thematically and choreographically (except the changes Kurt has made in adding a girls' number and reworking some of the group numbers). So yes, Kurt was the co-director and head choreographer for the US show as well. They just didn't do as much publicity about it in the US as in Canada.
Also, thanks Sylvia for all the links! I'm still having a hard time figuring out what Kurt did for his second solo, and if he's still in the "Up" group number though. Hopefully someone who went to the Halifax show will report!
Thanks Sylvia for bringing the vids to this thread to share with us. And thanks to MrBasemFarid for uploading on You-tube.
Great show. Lucky attendees!
I looks like there's a vid for everyone in the cast except for Ashley.....it would be great to see her performance as well
Thumbs up to W/P for skating to Florence & The Machine
Thank you for posting the video !
Maybe is just the fact that I'm seeing this video on youtube, and unluckily not being there to get the athmosphere, but I'm still to decide if I like better the competition or the show.
Never saw LIVE a Soi, so, maybe it is just this, but it seems to me that some skateres are more powerful in competitions than on the Shows.
What do you think ?
I think I want to see SOI live !
Please Kurt make a trip tp Europe !
Thanks Sylvia I was looking for these. I also was looking for Jerry Buttle, but didn't see him. Was he in this show?
I don't know that Buttle. There's a Jeffrey Buttle listed in the SOI Canada cast: http://www.starsonice.ca/stars-on-ice-cast.php
I've posted all the video links uploaded by the one person and didn't see anything for Ashley Wagner either.
ETA: I've edited in additional music info into my post (#101) above.
Anyone else going to the Ottawa show this afternoon?
lol, I ment Jeffrey. Wonder where he and Ashley are?
Is this Ashley? (or is it really joannie?)
I originally thought it was Ashley Wagner (video #5 in my list) but then saw that she rotated counterclockwise (Ashley is clockwise) so I edited my post later to put in Joannie Rochette's name. I think this is a new show number -- anyone know the song/artist?
I think that's Joannie.
V/M very lovely but turn the sound off and it's Mahler with a different dress
That's definitely Joannie, doing "Indestructible". It was her second number in the US show after Lake Placid.
Ashley and Jeffrey are definitely in the cast - you just have to look at rehearsal photos (or the video posted earlier in this thread of Jeffrey and Ashley practicing a lift) to verify it. I think the YouTube poster just didn't put up any videos of the two of them.
BTW, Sylvia, the "men's group footwork number" is the intro to the Act I closing number, "Rolling in the Deep", it's not a standalone number. Curious what the women's number is to, it's too bad the video is blocked for me! Also looks like the YouTube poster didn't put up the guys' spotlight number to "Waiting for my Real Life to Begin". Too bad, I'm curious which four guys Kurt ended up putting in it. My guess is Jeff, Jeremy, Scott, and Andrew, but it'd be nice to see for sure!
BTW speaking of rehearsal photos, the SOI site has an album up:
