Recall of Skippy Reduced Fat Peanut Butter due to possible salmonella.

Recalled batches have best by dates of 5/16/12LR1, 5/17/12 LR1,
    5/18/12LR1, 5/19/12LR1, 5/20/12LR1 and 5/21/12LR1

    UPC codes 0481006812, 048001006782

If you have peanut butter in your house, discard and call 1-800-453-3432 to receive a coupon for another jar from the company.

I buy Skippy brand, but never the reduced fat kind, so hopefully mine's ok. Thanks for the heads up!

I hope they learned from the last peanut recall -- when it was protein bars being recalled they started with a few, and kept adding page after page of bars for weeks. We ate some that weren't on the list at the time, only to have those same bars show up a week or two later. :(

Jif Naturals tastes pretty good if you're looking for an alternative to Skippy.

My jar's nearly empty so I'll just chuck it. And I don't plan on buying anymore as I am hoping to close on the sale of my apartment next Friday -18th - here in the US and hope to have a flight booked home to the UK by the end of March!!

Adams natural peanut butter is so far superior to these brands that I will never go back to any of them again. Anyway, I see this is a very serious matter so thanks for bringing it to our attention.

I have to confess, though, that my first thought on reading the thread title was that it was a joke like the reverse of then suddenly finding out something accidentally got contaminated with peanuts - something like "Peanut butter recalled due to accidentally Not containing any nuts."
