Say,does anyone know why NBC. is NOT showing the Pairs and Dance Disciplines until 2013?
No idea. Not showing pairs is not new. But they used to show some dance. So far this season, I think we've seen one dance program. Can't remember if it was V/M or D/W.
It was Davis/White at Skate America.
They also showed V/M at SC.
I agree. But it also doesn't look like there showing much Dance either.
The coverage here is so sad! I would much rather see ice dancing coverage instead of the current field of ladies.
Singles skating will always be the focus here in the US. Occasionally they will show an ice dance program since North America is having so much great success in it. But you can always bet that if there are only 2 hours allotted on NBC for a skating competition, it will be for singles.
Hopefully next year there will be more skating on NBC and their other channels when the contract with Universal Sports expires.
So thankful for Canadian TV!!!!!
This is such a thorn in my side. S&S are my favorite skaters (pairs). Last season I watched a whole broadcast waiting for the pairs and was so p*ssed at the end. Went to the NBC site to ask why. Got a response that basically said they didn't have time to read or respond. That particular show the men were falling left and right and still they didn't replace it by pairs. I would have boycotted NBC, but the olympics were on NBC.
