oh no, I was so looking forward to see her again.

and come one, a two time world champion, there should be some coaches out there who are willing to train her.

even though I´m a big fan of her, that sounds more like an excuse.

so this is very bad, if she really wants to compete next season, she has to qualifiy and do well at worlds, otherwise no2 grand prixs mehr. apart from that, she will go do in the rankings, what would be really bad for starting orders next season, but who knows if next season will come

I was expecting something like this. I think the lack of motivation is the real problem. A "coach" is an excuse. If she seriously wants to compete, the federation officials will do their best to find one. Since Ando is an employee of Toyota, she couldn't easily "withdraw" from Lexus Cup of China. She would've been happy if the JSF decided not to send Japanese skaters to China.

Not a surprise. I was very surprised to even see her listed in the grand prix. I really dont think she will compete at all as an amateur again. I have read many reports of her lacking motivation to continue, and lets face it she is never going to duplicate her 2010-2011 season again, that was the perfect note to end her amateur career on.

:( Miki will add to the depth in ladies and make ladies as exciting and thrilling as men.

Japanese federation didn't sound that much worried that Miki was going coachless which to me seemed like they had confidence in her current training.

I was so looking forward to her comeback!

Miki was so sad when she tweeted about how hard it was to start practice again. This is not a surprise. But she hasn't tweeted anything lately...

no Caro, no Ando, half(maybe) Tuktamysheva in GP series.
    GPF competition will be easy.

Does it say she is taking just the GPs off or the whole season off?

Kostner, Silété, and now Ando, 3 skaters out of the same GP events(COC and TEB).
There are too many skaters matching in the same events.
ISU should organize skaters more carefully so something like this won't happen.

Based on the JSF's currently issued selection criteria, skaters who have not achieved minimum TES shall not be chosen for ISU championships. So if Ando wants to go to worlds, she needs to compete at any senior B comps before Japanese nationals. She won't do that as long as motivation is the problem. After all, the same three will go to worlds in Canada.

you mean imai, nishino and ishikawa? :D

such a great gap between the top 4 (i still include ando until she finally stabs my heart :) )

I thought Caro was going to take a run up to Sochi? did I just have a good dream that went bad.

And wasn't Andover engaged or married to her coach.? I have good thing I am seeing my shrink today cause obviously iI have lost it pretty big time.

--> caro is going for sotchi; but after the difficulties in summer she deciced to skip the grand prixs and should be back for nationals in december.

--> miki was engaged to morozov, but this whole thing didn´t work out (what a suprise). so now she´s here, without coach and motivation.

It is not the ISU's fault that these skaters have withdrawn from the same event.

At least Ando has given time for the slots to be re-filled.

We have a lot of talented people here on FSU, why don't we offer our services as coach to Miki? I'd be happy to advise on costuming as I cannot skate worth a damn. ;)

I think that's it as far as her amateur career is concerned. It would be a wise decision too, given there's really no way she can improve on her results, given all the up-and-coming skaters.

I am disappointed. I was really looking forward to seeing her skate again.

What happened with Morozov? I thought he was her coach.

I must have been hiding under a rock.

coach, lover, engagement, made her sit out and rest 1 year, something happened (we know just his side accusing mikis mum), took alena, miki wanted him again, he declined, present

Maybe Nicolai can reach out to Miki like he did with Dai, and help her win an Olympic medal in Sochi.

Morozov is a great motivator, but it is all about him. A good teacher inspires self confidence, but Morozov inspires co-dependence.

In typical fashion, Morozov has moved on to pluck fresher flowers. Miki is better off moving on as well.

Huh? Weren't they getting married last year? This is sad news. I was so looking forward to seeing Miki back on the scene this season.

According to Morozov, Ando's mother's disapproval was the reason Ando broke off the engagement.

I don't find this sad, but more like being pushed out of the way of an oncoming truck driven by a drunk driver.
