That is horrible.
At least 35 killed and 50 injured in Spain train crash
Updated: 22:55, Wednesday, 24 July 2013
It´s the worst train accident in Spain. Right now 37 persons are reported dead, 50 injured, and it´s said they are still trying to rescue people from some wagons that are in a very bad condition
There was a lot of people in that train. Tomorrow is the main holiday in Galicia (a Northwest region of Spain), and the accident happened just before entering Santiago de Compostela, Galicia capital, where probably most of them would have left the train.
I´m really disgusted with the Spanish press that is showing a lot of photos of the victims covered by blankets, without any respect for their families and friends.
How tragic and awful!
I hope that the death toll will not rise further.
My sympathies to all affected.
The numbers just keep getting worse...
This is just just a devastating accident. My thoughts go out to all those families with dead and injured relatives.
WOW! Just WOW! Yet another fatal train derailment in as many months. My thoughts and prayers to the victims and their families.
Worse and worse...
This is terribly sad.
Just saw the video of the train crashing and I'm left shaking a bit. Disturbing to say the least. If there weren't any malfunctions of the operating system or kinks in the rails, the train conductor is in big trouble for speeding. So sad.
My sympathy to all the families affected by this awful tragedy.
One of the drivers has bragged in the past about speeding
'What joy to set police speed guns off': Spanish driver whose derailed train killed at least 80 people while travelling at 120mph in 50mph zone posted boasting Facebook photo of speedometer
They are showing a security video of the accident. It is just so creepy to look at.
Not saying that I'm a saint - I speed too, but 120mph in a 50mph zone is criminally negligent. And I wouldn't dare if I had hundreds of people in my charge.
TRAGEDY IN GALICIA
Santiago train driver “should have braked four kilometers earlier”
* Statements confirm theory that locomotive was traveling too fast
* Authorities lower accident death toll from 80 to 78
