A new ice rink complex is planned for the Kingsbridge Armory in the Bronx, in NYC. They're saying it will be the world's largest indoor ice skating facility. Construction is set to begin next year:

This thing is supposed to house nine - yes, NINE ice surfaces. They're aiming for it to become an elite level figure skating and hockey center. The NY Islanders hope to move their practices there:

One of the rinks will have 5,000 seats around it, making it good for ice shows and minor league hockey. There will be parking for close to 500 cars in a garage being built as part of the project.

The rinks will be on two floors. At least two of the rinks will be able to accommodate sled hockey (for disabled players.) It will be called the Kingsbridge National Ice Center.
