Wishing you good health.
Post back again when its midnight .... just in case.
My friend is having a Christmas party tommorrow and we are also calling it an "end of the world party"
Just turned 9pm. Although they did say on the news that it was due to happen after 10pm.
Oh I love this son! Hehehe
Well, if it could please wait until I'm nicely snoozing, that'd be appreciated. It better not wait til I get up tomorrow. That would be very rude.
Well it was supposed to happen at 11.11am in the UK and we're 10 minutes past that now and I'm still here posting on my beloved FSU, so YAY!!!
Bought some plane tickets yesterday for next month, so if the world ends I don't have to pay the credit card bill and if it doesn't I get to go on a trip so it's all good!
After 6 a.m. in Mountain time and we appear to all still be here.
It's not at all surprising that the world didn't end - clearly the world as we know it won't end until the Jewish year 6,000, 227 years from now. I for one do not intend to be present for the event, but if any future FSUers come across this thread, you read it here first!
Well, I won't get to take that detour through the universe before I get to my parent's home. There were obviously no pole shift occurrences causing the gravity to fluctuate and no significant solar flares. It's a beautiful sunny day where I live. The temperature is 41 F with a high of around 56 F today. WhooHoo!!
You know, I thought this was all very funny. Until I got a phone call from a friend at 1am last night. She's been diagnosed as bipolar (after several other diagnoses) and is in the middle of a crisis. She was telling me that her father (deceased) has been communicating with her telling her that Earth was going to get hit by an asteroid today and that the apocalypse was coming and that she wanted to protect me. She also asked me to change my cell phone plan to Verizon because it was the only one that was going to work after the asteroid hit. Go figure. She was totally manic and then told me she needed to go because the cops were there at her house.
I obviously couldn't sleep last night. I have spent my morning talking to people in her town (5,000 miles away from where I am right now) trying to get her some help. I've called the police and actually spoke to the counselor in the county jail where she was taken last night.
These "end-of-days" scenarios can have real consequences for some people. It just never happened to anyone close to me.
12 hours to go till the day ends where I am now. Is anything happening anywhere? Although, I did feel like joining the people who gathered in some spot around Kazakhstan as a haven for the doomsday.
I thought there was some town in France where the women don't wear pants (only skirts, you pervs) that was going to be spared.
Probably too late to get there now, though.
So, as it's Saturday in the Far East...and they're still here...
Tonight at 11...
Maybe we're taking it too literally. There have been some pretty awful things that happened this year. Maybe it's the end of our society, as we know it.
And I have a friend in Australia who is also still there - it's the morning of 12/22 for her! Oh, wouldn't we feel stupid if they meant Eastern Standard Time and poof we're gone before midnight. ha ha
*waves* 11:25am on the 22nd. Another gorgeous sunny day!
It's still over 2 hours here before it's midnight.....Dec. 22nd is not too far.
We had a snowstorm and the freeway was blocked/closed by an overturned semi for about four hours (thankfully nobody hurt). I had to take side roads home and it added about fifteen minutes to my commute. There was even snow drifts to go through I don't think that constitutes the end of the world, though.
It's 4:52pm and ooh, there are a few wisps of cloud spoiling my blue sky! ROOOD!
None ruining my blue sky, 35C day.
The one time I actually make non-cancellable reservations, there's a blizzard up at Tahoe this weekend.
In any case:
Only unusual thing about yesterday was a bit of snow.
So, when is the next Doomsday prediction? I'd like to get started early this next time around...
This is the 2nd Doomsday that I've lived through. The other was in the 1950's. Does this make me one of the "good" people or one of the "bad" people? I get confused.
You were just "left behind" like the rest of us. We're all bad.
See my post on the previous page - there's one 227 years away, still plenty of time to prepare!
Oh, good! I hate rushed Doomsday scenarios! Thank you!
