Ice Time in Newburgh, NY Closing

    Another one bites the dust. Ice Time in Newburgh, NY, where Ksenia Makarova trained and her parents worked as coaches, is closing up business as of the beginning of June. The rink owners say business has fallen off. They're the only full-time ice rink in that part of NY.

    I'm hoping they can find someone to take over the rink and run it. I've heard that a CT rink has been contacted to meet with the town to figure out if something can be done re: them taking the place over. Here's to hoping. I think the next closest rink is an hour or more away.

    I don't see why someone can't run this place profitably, if they're able to make smart business decisions. This county is one of the fastest growing areas of NY State, and there's a lot of hockey up here.
