Almost half the US population (140 million out of roughly 310 million) will experience temperatures less than zero Fahrenheit (-18C) the next few days!

Some funny temperature flukes: Atlanta is colder than Anchorage, AK and Moscow by 20 degrees F (7 degrees C) Nashville, TN is colder than Albany, NY by almost 40 degrees F (4 degrees C)

Thankfully, here it's only going to drop to 7F (-14C). :D

    Sooo...what's it like for you?

The real air temperature on my garage thermometer is -10. Wind chill according to the weather channel is -27, though they're going off the town airport's temp with is -7, so it's probably more like -30. The 20" of snow is actually the bigger issue....heck, my employer (a casino) did the one thing they said they NEVER do--closed our location for the day. We're 24/7/365 but no one is getting to work.

Outside of Vancouver, BC it is -1 (30 Fahrenheit). But it will warm up to +4 (39 Fahrenheit) this afternoon. And then the prediction is that it will rain for seven straight days. Which is fine. The Ark is pretty much ready to go... ;)

I'm in eastern Iowa and when I came in this morning the real temperature was -15 F, and the windchill was -47 F.
I had my husband drive me to work because I work at a university and my parking lot is a 15 minute walk from my building. The news said that severe frostbite can occur in as little as 5 minutes.

I'm in sunny Israel, where the daytime temperatures have been close to 20. Of course, that's 20 Celsius ;)

I'm in St Louis, where the temperature is currently -3 F and a current windchill is said to be -24 F; that's the high for the day. Everything is closed today including the billing office of the utility companies and offices of St Louis City/County. Yesterday we about 12 inches of snow in the metro area. I have no plans to leave my house until at least Wednesday. The streets aren't clear yet because of the ice/sleet underneath. What a mess!!! Everybody stay warm and stay safe!

My sister lives in Los Angeles and told me that it was 74 F. I was sooooo jealous.......

I'm in Duluth, GA (about 30 miles northeast of Atlanta). It's a balmy 26 degrees F here, with wind blowing at 21 mph, so it feels more like 12 degrees F. Our low tonight is supposed to be 5 degrees F.

    Time to bundle up :cold::cold::cold:

I live in California and we've scarcely had a hint of winter all season. :summer: :shuffle: If it makes you feel better, pollution is definitely on the up trend. :(

I'm in the San Diego area and it's 74ºF (23ºC) right now at 1300. We haven't had much of a winter this year either. A week or so before Christmas it was 6-7ºC coming home from work at 2am, but mostly it's been 12-14ºC.

My brother, who lives up in the Adirondacks, has already had temperatures well below zero this winter - -26F only 2-3 weeks ago.

As far as Albany NY is concerned, this weather is not news. It was -9 last Friday night (I live 5 minutes away by highway so their weather is my weather) and we had a snow storm and Wind Chill Advisory in effect Thursday into Friday (-20 wind chill). Today OTOH.... it was pouring rain out at one point, and when I stepped out of my building to go to work at 7:30 this morning it felt almost like a late March/early April morning - 48F (if TN was 40 degrees colder than Albany, they would have been around zero because it was snowing here at noontime when you made your opening post). We're supposed to get down to 6F tonight, with a -15 to -29 wind chill factor (just got a Weatherbug Wind Chill Advisory alert on my phone). 7F tomorrow with 2F at night, and the temps are supposed to rise to 44F on Sunday during the day.

A little north of Chicago, right now -11, wind chill -24. They had forecasted wind chills up to -50, but I think that's supposed to be later tonight. I'm not planning to go out until Wed.--one of the huge perks of working at home!!

It has "warmed up" to -8 with a windchill of -32.

A coach who went to Boston for Nationals is bragging how nice and warm it is there at 45 degrees. Who would think of Boston as a winter destination to warm up at...

Is "TOO FRACKIN' COLD" descriptive enough? I'm in NE Indiana and there's a continued "weather emergency" through Tuesday afternoon. Windchill is something like -39F with "actual" temperature around -10F. Poor doggies are having their paws freeze before they can do their business. . . time to get out the old Polar Paws, although they're too big for our smaller doggies.

Boston was below 0 a few days ago. I think they got hit early, and it's passed now. But it's not all pleasant there, as it's raining, and at night the rain freezes, making the streets dangerous.

It is -12 but feels like -25, but tomorrow it will be -21 and feel like -35. Unfortunately I am a PSW in the community so I have no choice but to go to work and brave the temperature.

The low last night in my area which is in northwestern Louisiana was 17 F. Right now, it's 30 F with a low tonight of 18 F. I haven't seen it this cold in quite a few years. Once in the 80's, it got to sub zero, and it was in January. It's never been that cold again, but 17 F is still pretty cold to me because I'm not used to it. I really feel for all of you in the eastern and northern states that's having to deal with these minus degree temperatures!

I don't think we ever got above freezing today. I went to weather.com and they report 34 but I never saw anything above 32, if it did get higher than that then it wasn't for long. Tonight our low was forecast to be 18 but I think we won't go that low with the cloud cover. Maybe 23 or 22. Either way, that is very rare cold in southeast Louisiana. I have been going out and spraying water on a small tree in the front yard so it will have some ice on it. It is working very quickly but I am too cold to keep at it for long. I wish I had a sprinkler!

My icicle tree idea has been put on ice (hahaha, I am so good). The hose froze solid and now I can't get any running water through it. Oops!!
