    A friend told me a story yesterday. Not sure if it's true or just one of those urban tales that goes around. The subject matter made me think of FSU though. Here it is;
    A friend of hers has a mid 20's autistic son (who is 6'3" tall and huge) who works at a factory. When he didn't show up for work his employers phoned his house. He answered, flustered, and said he couldn't come into work as he was guarding the troll...
    he then hung up on them. They went around to his home and when he answered the door he had scratches all over him and small patches of blood on his clothes. He told them the troll was in the shed out the back and they shouldn't go near him because he was dangerous. When they went out the back to check up they found a dwarf locked in the shed. Apparently the autistic son had seen the dwarf at the bus stop and said "You're a troll, you're coming with me." He them picked the dwarf up and took him home and proceeded to lock him in the back shed. The dwarf was threatening to sue and press charges for kidnapping. I don't know what happened in the end because I was laughing too much.

    Did it happen in Ballarat? My friend told me this story a few weeks ago but if it is the same people, then it is a true story.

    Every time I read an urban legend, I totally buy in to it, which is sad :). It must be genetic, because my mother told me at least two things that she swore happened in the town I grew up in that turned out to be urban legends.

    I spread an urban legend around for a while and I felt so sheepish when I saw it on snopes. Mine was about the actor Paul Newman, who actually lived in our town, so I thought it was true.

    The story was that someone's cousin, sister, whatever was in the local ice cream shop and Paul Newman walked in. The sister was star struck but tried to keep her cool. She paid for her ice cream and started to walk out and realized that she didn't have her cone. She asked the guy behind the counter for her cone and Paul Newman said, "Lady, I think you need to look in your purse." :slinkaway

    Someone told me the one about the woman in Vegas winning a lot of casino coins and going to her room she gets in the elevator with two black men who make her nervous.. one of them says "hit the floor" and she drops to the ground. The next day she receives a dozen roses with 100 dollar bills attached to each one, signed by Eddie Murphy and Shaq or whoever the famous black men are at the time. It changes.

    I told the Vegas casino one for a couple of years, believing it had happened to the mother or aunt or something of a classmate of mine. I think the man was Arsenio Hall. Boy, did I feel like an idiot when I realized it was an urban legend.
