But they didn't win the whole competition...and the Rus Nat..
It's not illegal, in that there is zero value given for it, but for senior Ladies and Men, a double or triple axel is required in the SP, and a single axel gets automatic GOE of -3, which nets to almost nothing. In the FS, an "axel type jump" is required, and that can be a single axel.
Worlds 2012 is still in effect and that is where number one could come from.
And they're qualified.
This is probably what she meant. They are still the number one ranked Russian team from last year's worlds.
Which means absolutely nothing, of course.
Anyone know if Averbuch has a new show.? I saw a clip of him in a press conference with Navka and Kostomarov and an older lady don't know who she was
Surely, that older lady couldn't have been Tarasova? I presume that you would recognize her . As for the show, I don't know - although in some interview Tarasova talked about some show that (only) probably was going to happen if only Channel 1 would give it the green light.
Definately not TarasovaLooked more like Dubova but then again haven't seen her for years
Navka/Kostomarov look glum.
Tatjana Kontseva the president of this regio skating federation
It's not about a TV show. It's about one of the shows in their Russian tour.
My god, Navka's got a face like a slapped arse. What's up love?!
It looks like they all rolled right out of bed and went the presser with no make up or hair product, lol.
If someone could ID the skaters shown toward the end of the clip, that would be great.
I'm not there so I don't know, but it would seem that Ilya has done a LOT for skating in Russia and Eastern Europe. Good for him.
Interview with TAT
I love how she bitches about the dancers in Russia not innovating enough when it's her fault that Zhulin put Tosca into BS's FD. (Originally it was going to be all Man with the Harmonica but she has said that she begged Zhulin to change the second half)
I don't believe top 10 isn't the sole and only reason kovtun is being sent. "just want to introduce him to the world!" sure! "have him get some experience but top 10 doesn't matter." she's right that in august he was nobody but that just seems like a reason as to why there should be nothing held against him.
With dance forget new elements how about level 4! The need for consistent level 3 and 4 is it.
A lot of teams are doing Lv3 and Lv4 elements. You need much more than that to stand out from the crowd.
Whatever it is it's got to be consistently level 4 from all the teams and the goe's got to be good too. So whatever that's new it's got to be level 4 with goe +3. So that's not being done now by anyone with any consistency with team Russia.
That's not being done now by anyone.
D/w and v/m are and p/b are close
Artur Gachinski has released some sneak peeks at his new LP for next season - "Anna Karenina"!
The choreographer is Yuri Smekalov, who, you may recall, choreographed not only Artur's "Narcissus" program, but Plushenko's magic "Nijinsky".
I think what we are seeing is the opening and closing - hard to tell. Either way, I love it already!
(Videos were originally posted on his vk, the post I'm linking is to a fan on tumblr.)
Two videos about forty seconds each
That is not what she said. She said when they train for an event in North America, out of all the rinks available, Simbercy, Connecticut, is the one picked by Morozov for practice and adaptation, becuase it's the rink/location that is most familiar and comfortable for them.
Julieann, you're right. In this context Elena used the word "second" to mean "the other" or "the next" as in "here we are, a dance team, talking to you, and then there is the next "top" team, or "the other top team".
Elena is well coached in PR, and does not say stupid things, so far.
Ok, I'm sure I can't be the first one to ask this question, but...
Tarasova/Morozov--famous names in that pair. Are they related to the more famous Tarasova and Morozov?
I don't think so, Tarasova and Morozov are quite common Russian surnames.
speaking of Tarasova/Morozov here is their FS
too bad about the falls, they look disappointed and ready to leave K&C at the end
Fedorova/Miroshkin came back on the FS
If you're looking for Simbercy you won't find it. The town is Simsbury, Connecticut.
And here's a link to the International Skating Center of Connecticut, in Simsbury, which is where I expect they will be.
Thank you for the info!! I'm sure it will be great!!!!
Averbukh says that right now they are starting new TV project (something about dance), but there will definitely be the next season of Ice Age and it will feature some foreign skaters. Says that they want to promote figure skating before the Sochi Olympics.
(Could it be Marina Anissina? Does she count as a foreign skater? )
Anyone know about Evgenia Medvedeva's long program music from?
It's from the Russian movie Мой Ласковый И Нежный Зверь (My Sweet and Tender Beast). I remember because Sasha Cohen used it for her SP at the 2002 Winter Olympics.
No. It's the same composer but different thing. This is soviet composer Evgeny Doga.
My sweet and tender beast is the soviet movie after an Anton Chehov novel.
Here it is:
If you mean thise Evgenia l.p:
It's Doga Grammafon valse.
