    That's absolutely horrible. :(

I used that particular metro line for five years every morning commuting to the university.

I am shocked. This is sooo terrible. :( I hope there is no blacklash against migrants in the country. This is the 3rd bit of such news this week. In China 153 miners have been trapped for days and in South Korea 46 sailors are missing.

These types of terrorism acts against innocent people going about their business is just heinous and evil, and should not be condoned in any way. My heart goes out to the families of the victims.

Horrible, just horrible! I hope none of the Russian skating folk or their families were injured. Not that I wish this on anyone; skater or not.

ITA. It's lower than low, such perpetrators are not human. I don't understand why people would do such things. What does it accomplish besides more fear and more violence? Societies cannot stand on fear and violence alone. Ugh, it sickens me. :(

The fear and violence are the purpose of such acts, but I'm not sure I understand the reasons behind why people do such things. I mean, I understand "why" - the politics, their intentions - but I don't understand *why*. Why *this*? Why do they see no other options but this?

That's horrible. I feel for the victims and their families.

Not a good day for subways for me. I heard about this and then, immediately after, about someone who threw themselves in front of a subway train at the station right outside of my school this morning. Sometimes, the whole living in a crowded metropolitan area and using public transportation thing really kind of scares me.

Especially in a city that's a "target" city, like London or Moscow or NYC. It's understandable, to feel a bit... I'm not sure how to describe it. I lived in Dublin back during the day, and I'd been to London several times during that time as well, up to Belfast, and then of course lived in NY for 9/11 and after. It's a bit... not that you're fearful, not that it takes over your world, but more hyper-aware, I suppose, of what could be.
