Caught most of the Call The Midwife Christmas special - why didn't I know that was on? Anyway I love this show and all the actors are just brilliant as far as I'm concerned. Just a little confused about the doctor's son and his illness - I didn't get the secret taking of the pills - was he starting to feel ill and self medicating or is he supposed to be some sort of addict in the making? Very peculiar. I thought the boys had poisoned themselves but that wasn't it at all.
I agree...that business with the boys sharing a drink at the party, and the pills was very confusing. Maybe it was meant to be a red herring so that the diagnosis of polio would be more of a shock/surprise.
I can't believe I went out to dinner tonight without setting Call the Midwife to record! Aarrgh! And it doesn't repeat!
Piratebay here I come ...
Not necessary, Artemis!
For you, and anyone else who missed it, here is the Holiday Special:
Nope. PBS web videos are geoblocked in Canada. Which really p!sses me off, since the Seattle affiliate markets itself as serving both Washington State and BC -- and they're always happy to take our money during pledge drives.
See if this link will work for you:
Call the Midwife, Christmas Special, 2013
^ Thanks for that dardar. The video quality is pretty crappy but it's better than nothing -- I'll save that as my plan b. if I can't find a better copy to download.
At least it's not geoblocked.
(Sorry, but we don't have a CELLO icon! )
I have something for you.
I'll be watching Yo-Yo Ma tonight.
For those who survive New Year's Eve...
NOTE: Check your local listings; my PBS affiliate shows this Vienna Philharmonic program in the evening.
Hm, didn't think I had that many PMs! Ok, cleared now.
Thank you thank you thank you! Skatesindreams is my new favourite person -- she sent me a nice HQ version of Call the Midwife, so I can stop sulking now!
Loved it, of course. Esp. Trixie and Sister Julienne.
I'm delighted it worked for you!
