    Are Isabella Cannuscio /Michael Bramante not together anymore or did they just not qualify.
  3. Sylvia

    Sylvia Prepping for club comp. season!

    AFAIK, Cannuscio/Bramante are still together. They placed 9th in Senior Dance, less than 1.5 points behind Aronow/Brubaker in 8th, and perhaps could be added to the ISP if they monitor well this summer.

    You're welcome.

    IF there are no changes in the Grand Prix selection criteria...

    Guaranteed 2 GP assignments based on their top 12 finish at 2013 Worlds:
    Aaron; Wagner (seeded 4-6), Gold (seeded 4-6); Scimeca/Knierim; Davis/White (seeded 1-3), Chock/Bates, Shibutani/Shibutani.

    Guaranteed at least 1 GP based on being in top 24 of Season Best scores and/or projected World Standings lists as of today (noted below if only 1 is met):
    Miner, Abbott, Dornbush, Farris, Brown [Chen is 24 SB but is expected to return to JGP];
    Nagasu, Gao, Zawadzki, Miller (18 SB), Wang (22 SB);
    Castelli/Shnapir, Denney/Coughlin, Zhang/Bartholomay (15 SB), Denney/Frazier (22 SB);
    Hubbell/Donohue, Kriengkrairut/Giulietti-Schmitt (24 SB), Aldridge/Eaton (18 WS).

    ETA that the new pair of Davis/Brubaker (he) could qualify for at least 1 GP as as a "Returning Split Couple"; I believe Lysacek and Czisny (if deemed ready) could qualify as "Come-Back" Skaters." Davis/Brubaker are not yet included in the ISP at this time.

    I would like to see Denney/ Frazier return to the JGP along with Angela Wang and Jason Brown, with Hannah Miller probably needing 2 more years. I don't feel like they're quite ready to dominate the senior ranks and I feel like 1 more year would do them all well. I don't understand what the US does with skaters like Zhou who aren't eligible for international junior competitions. Would love to see D/B get a GP :) .. Also not to be negative, but hard for me to imagine De la Mora/ Wilson being ready for Senior internationals.

    Davis/Brubaker can get a GP as a split couple because Rockne finished 10th at 2011 Worlds.

    Czisny qualifies as a comeback skater because she finished 5th at Worlds 2011. However, Lysacek used up his one-time-only opportunity when he was scheduled for two events in the 2011-2012 GP and then withdrew.

    This was posted before the 2012-13 GP selections were made:
    So it sounds like Lysacek could still use the clause if he wants 2 GPs?

    Typo correction for my original post #1:
    Ladies - Morgan Flood* N4 (not N5)

    Removed from the ISP dance list:
    Anastasia Olson & Keiffer Hubbell S7
    Hannah Rosinski & Jacob Jaffe J8 - This Jan. 17th Cleveland Plain Dealer article mentioned their plans to retire after Nationals to attend college (Jaffe had "earned early acceptance into Brown but decided to delay being an Ivy League freshman for a year.")

    Wait, does that mean Olson/Hubbell have split?

    How is Lysacek still in this list when he hasn't competed since Vancouver?

    The ISP represents the skaters eligible for international assignments. Evan is the reigning OGM, with a bye to Nationals, and he has said he would like to compete next season. Decisions about the ISP are based on competitive history, but not necessarily last season's history.

    If the rules don't change. This year's definition of a "Come-Back Skater/Couple" is "Skaters/Couples who were previously seeded (placed 1 to 6 within the past 10 years at an ISU World Figure Skating Championship) and subsequently did not participate in one or more competitive seasons will be given priority consideration to re-enter the Grand Prix for selection of up to 2 assignments" (if they commit in writing, etc. It also says they "would be considered for selection as a Host Country Choice," but while there might be pressure for USFS to use one spot at Skate America for Lysacek, which they probably would anyway, last year Weir was assigned to Rostelecom Cup and Trophee Bompard, and Ando was assigned to Cup of China and Trophee Bompard.

    no flatt..... :(

    Sylvia Prepping for club comp. season!

    4 additions have been made to the ISP: Davis/Brubaker in pairs, Flatt, Weir, and Brian Krentz (J8 at Nationals & JGP age-eligible).
  15. kwanfan1818

    kwanfan1818 I <3 Kozuka

    He didn't have to use it. He was still Top 24 in WS and entitled to one, and he was chosen as a host pick by USFS in addition to the guaranteed spot.

    LilJen Reaching out with my hand sensitively

    Yeah, what's the situation? Did they just not get scores that were high enough to automatically qualify, or have they split, or ???
  17. Sylvia

    Sylvia Prepping for club comp. season!

    My hearsay info is that Olson/Hubbell have split. There has been no official announcement that I know of and their 2012-13 Team USA bio on IN has not yet been updated with the "ended partnership in xxx" sentence.

    Elise Middleton and Robert Hennings are listed in Team C. Have they not officially informed USFS of their split? Because I was under the impression that that was a done deal a while ago and that she already has a new partner.
  20. Sylvia

    Sylvia Prepping for club comp. season!

    I'm told they will be removed from the envelope as soon as their split has been verified.

    ETA that Armin Mahbanoozadeh is not listed in the Team C envelope and his name was removed from the ISP - here's the GSD thread I started about his retirement from skating and college plans: http://www.fsuniverse.net/forum/sho...eh-announces-his-retirement-amp-college-plans

    Yes, it's earlier than usual!

    [Edited to remove the JGP assignments that were prematurely posted]

    AFAIK they don't meet any of the Team C envelope criteria.

    I'm surprised Miller didn't get one of the first three JGP assignments.

    It looks like they removed the JGP listings, unless I am totally missing something.

    The JGP assignments have been removed from USFS' Assignments page, so I guess we should consider them as preliminary / not set in stone / still unofficial...

    Did USFS forget about TEB on the calendar of events?

    Yes - the TEB entries have since been added on their Assignments page.

    Re-posting this relevant excerpt from the Grand Prix Assignments thread:
    The 2013-14 team envelope criteria were published in the fall of 2012 ("All Grand Prix skaters in 2013-14" is not included as one of the criteria for Team B): http://www.usfsa.org/Athletes.asp?id=350

    It's possible Zhang qualified for Team C based on the following envelope criterion:
    "Consideration to place the athletes in Team C - Tier 1 will be given for senior level skaters placing lower at the U.S. Figure Skating Championships where the event was very strong or the results were very close."
    (The 8th to 10th place Senior ladies at Nationals met other Team C criteria and there was a 11+ gap in points between Zhang's total score in 11th and Ashley Cain's in 12th.)
